zeitgeist57
Guys, I was replacing rotors, pads, and the rotten rubber wheel brake lines on my 1978 Lincoln Continental when the last nut froze to the hard line. I PB Blasted, flare wrench'd, and eventually ViseGrip'd...but just rounded off the nut connecting the hard line from the car to the rubber wheel brake line. A buddy is letting me borrow his 3/16" flare tool to redo the hard line, but for the last half-hour I've had a heck of a time trying to figure out what the "factory" hard line size is. The nut used a 5/16"s flare wrench if that helps. Please advise, or let me know where to go. All the online sites (RockAuto, JCWhitney, parts stores) were worthless... Rocky31186
It should be 3/16 brake line.
2 Sweet
It could be 1/4? FWIW, the hard line on my S10 is 1/4" and I think the rest of the lines are all 3/16". But my S10 certainly isn't a 1978 Lincoln soooo yeah
zeitgeist57
Thanks, guys. I've got nothing to lose as the guy is right by my house. Will see if the tool fits...
Rocky31186
Is it the kit? My flare kit has all sizes in it.
