Johny Utah
My back yard part of it is high traffic with kids playing. Not much grass left and a lot of mud. Any suggestions on how to get grass back while kids are still using it?
jerrodh
Minimize the amount of kids
POS VETT
If these Arabs could do this, you could grow grass while being trampled.
TTQ B4U
going to be tough with kids tromping on it. if possible at all. Sod might be your best bet if the kids must be there.
Johny Utah
I think the sod will just get tore up and not stay in place. I think I'm just going to put down grass seed and lots of straw. I'm sure most of the area won't grow. At least the straw will keep the mud way down. RyM3rC
Have the same problem with dogs in my yard. I'm going to seed with some fescue mixes and see if it holds up any better. Probably not, have to go to gravel or astroturf sometime. Too much rain, too much traffic, not enough sun = mudpit.
Grudes
You will probably have to fence the areas you want grass to grow in until it gets established. Maybe just plant one section at a time. Like everyone else said, it will be hard to grow grass while the kids are playing on it
iwashmycar
If all else fails maybe spread a thin coat of mulch on the area. I did that where I actually didnt care to have grass out by my garage, and now that its growing again its coming up through the mulch pretty nicely!...but in the mean time I can walk on it without getting muddy.
