I found that channel recently and really like their videos. That car is great. The only thing I didn't like was he put the 77-78 nose on a 79. I loved my 78 TA and will have another someday. That was the car that if you stood on it long enough, the gas gauge moved.

They always have top notch videos.

But of nostalgia watching that. My first car was an 81 turbo trans am pace car.

Extremely white trash vehicles.

Ok.

If that car is white trash then I'll take the car and a new trailer.

When I was 17 I had a girlfriend who drove a cocaine white turbo trans am pace car.

Extremely white trash doesn't even begin to cover it. There is only so much feathered hair and .38 special albums a man can take. Not that I was any better with a 1978 T/A SE "Bandit" that was more primer than black paint.

Actually I think I have that beat...my buddy Tom in highschool had a 77 Firebird Esprit in refrigerator white with centerline auto drags, hi-jacker rear spring shackles, and a built chevy 305 (yeah I know...lol) that came out of a stolen Third Generation caprice police car (or so he claimed) with a sneaky pete 50hp dry shot nitrous, open rear, and a B&M ratchet shifter. Fuzzy handcuffs hung from the rear mirror. He wasn't whisky tango, but the car looked like he boosted it from the local trailer park.

A close second was this guy steve in his mid 20's that hung out with us high school kids, he drove a 1980 "yellowbird" with JC Whitney sidepipes and cragar mags. Dude was uber creepy.

Ah...memories.

you can never appreciate how terrible those smog era second gen cars are until you drive one. That's what makes the one in the petrolicous video extra good - because it doesn't suck. Are they trashy now? no, I think they aged into being classics and other cars have taken their place but for the time (80's and 90's) they were so cheap, and so disposable, and attracted all the wrong kinds of trouble. Oddly enough I saw a young dude driving an 80 or 81 TA in downtown c-bus last year with a Tennessee tophat and no shirt on and all I could think was "fucking hipster".
