Berto
So the wife and I have been wanting to go to Utah for a long time. We got the chance to go and hit up Arches NP, Canyonlands NP, Bryce Canyon NP, and Zion NP. Incredible parks. And of course I timed it with the MW viewing window since its so dark out there and just gambled with the weather. It was really awesome. Weather skunked me many nights but I just worked around the clouds. The best shot, IMO was on the last night. There was a chance for a clear night and I was able to get one shot, just as the MW core came up over The Watchman in Zion and the clouds were rolling in. Of course feel free to check out the link in my sig with more utah pics. Daytime stuff included as well. http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c192/BertoBizkit/Fred%20Miranda%20Forum%20Entries/DSC_0593%20The%20Watchman%20Milky%20Way%20-%20edited%20-%20web.jpg http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c192/BertoBizkit/Fred%20Miranda%20Forum%20Entries/Paria%20View%20MW%20final%20-%20web.jpg http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c192/BertoBizkit/Fred%20Miranda%20Forum%20Entries/DSC_0205%20Mesa%20Arch%20Sunrise%20-%20web.jpg http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c192/BertoBizkit/Fred%20Miranda%20Forum%20Entries/DSC_0139%20Park%20Avenue%20MW%20%20-%20web.jpg

Berto
WOW DUDE!! That's one of my favorites to date. This one could make you some money and get you some serious recognition IMO. They are all very good/excellent. We will see, thanks for the kind words (everyone) Funny story behind this shot. This is the 'Mesa Arch' in canyonlands NP. The iconic shot is getting the sunrise through the arch. Because well just awesome: shooting from a plateau, through an arch, getting the sunrise, snow capped mountains in the back, canyon, all in on shot. Even though its a bit played out I still wanted to get it. I got there about 45 min before sunrise and there were about 7 other photographers already set up in the prime spot. Fak. So I set up on the very end, and the view was terrible. So I started moving around, looking for a different angle. I actually ended up laying down just outside of the frame of everyone else. My head/camera hanging off the edge, ditched the tripod completely. People thought I was nuts. By the time I got up there were 4 dudes around me trying to get the same shot. Luckily I had my wide lens and could still get some sky above the arch. The first picture of the watchman is an iconic view at zion. We actually went at sunset, and there were so many photographers it was ridiculous. It was a huge turn off. I knew months ahead of time that it would be a good milky way shot, so I came back to get it later, not another soul even drove by in the 2 hrs I was there.
