Wood cribbing for wheeljacks?

I'm looking to get under the Lincoln mostly to do measurements of ride height (so I can cut the cup brackets and set air-spring height) before installation, and running/securing/installing the air bags and DOT air lines to each corner.

Has anyone made and used these "wood cribs" as wheel stands for lifting up their car? Any horror stories? I would still have jackstands and a jack available for safety, but I'd like to mimic the static ride height of the Lincoln accurately above-ground without needing a lift.

I've used something similar for years. I got a few 2x10s and cut them into 18" pieces. I stack them as needed. 4 of the pieces I put 1x2 strips on the end as stops in case the car rolls for some reason and sometimes I reverse them to get an extra 3/4" if the weight is light. I use them under the bikes too...and for a bazillion other things around the garage.
