Geeto67
Now that radio shack is closed, where do you guys buy things like wire and fittings locally? I need to make up a small pigtail for a motorcycle I am working on and I need some pretty small gauge wire and some oddball connectors. dakotart
http://partsexpress.com I have ordered stuff from them before. I usually try and buy some bulk to save on shipping. They are in Ohio too.
Geeto67
thanks! I have to match some things up so I am trying to find someone locally rather than ship things back and forth.
o0n8
For things I can wait for to get shipped or sometimes dropped off by their regional guy terminalsupplyco.com All other stuff, Home Depot Racing or auto parts store.
jeffro
Microcenter has a decent selection of hobbyist electronics. As soon as you walk in make a right towards the service desk and there are a few isles of what you're looking for. Its a shame radioshack went out. They killed themselves by opening a million stores and charging ridiculous prices for things.
Richard Cranium
I know it isn't local, but they aren't far. MCMElectronics
mmrmnhrm
A second for Microcenter... now that they've got the whole maker section off to the right when you walk in, they've had just about any standard part (caps and resistors, usually) I've needed. For bigger or more specialized stuff, I order from http://www.mouser.com.
jeffro
Loeb electric is another option. Theyre geared more towards the 120V+ circuits.
cstmg8
City electric has often had small oddball things I've needed (terminals, 1/4 amp fuses, etc..), and the staff generally knows what you're talking about over the phone.
