Sully
I have about 3/4 of an acre that I'd like to put an invisible fence in. I may be ok with just doing about 1/2 of that which would be the back yard, but depends on cost. Anyone have a company to recommend? Can these be purchased and put in yourself? Anything I need to be aware of if I have a company to come out to quote it?
Red Beard
We've always bought and installed our own. They are super simple to install (just takes an afternoon and a shovel). PetSafe is the brand we used, the stubborn dog series (for bigger dogs). SportDog is a good system too. It can cover the whole acre with ease. https://www.chewy.com/petsafe-stubborn-dog-in-ground-fence/dp/48858?utm_source=google-product&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=hg&utm_content=PetSafe&utm_term=&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIvJzW4LHc1gIVVlgNCh136gtyEAkYASABEgKPzPD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds http://www.cabelas.com/product/SportDOG-Brand-In-Ground-Fence/753465.uts?productVariantId=1697979&WT.tsrc=PPC&WT.mc_id=GoogleProductAds&WT.z_mc_id1=02993487&rid=20&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI6cPv8bDc1gIVDUwNCh3WpwQGEAkYBCABEgL1ffD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds
xlr8tn
We've used a wireless one for years. I run 2 boxes....one in the house and one in the shed to give him more room. The shed box just quit working about a week ago so I need to replace it. It was used when I bought it and it lasted 6.5 years....not sure how old it was when I bought it. Rocky31186
I did a ton of research and chose this one... https://www.tractorsupply.com/tsc/product/petsafe-stay--play-wireless-fence?cm_vc=-10005 I can not recommend it enough. It has worked great. Completely wireless other than the cord to the home box. Collars stay charged for a long time. You have to properly train your dog. My 2 boxers know where they can go, and they know when it beeps to get back.
