I've been emailing back-and-forth over the last day on this Mustang, as I'm looking for a whole donor car to swap the 5.0L/T5/EFI, etc... into my '95 BMW E36. The rear frame rails are totally rusted out, which the owner said is why the price is so cheap. He's sent me additional pics and the car is in very good shape otherwise.

What do Mustang hoods, trunklids, doors, Pony wheels, etc go for on the used market? The car is located in Northern NJ so it would be a weekend trip just to grab it.

I'm not shy of sharing the source, as I want to consider values before going through with this, or I'm not going to bother at all. Thanks, CR!

I considered the same thing, but time is money.

It's not really worth the few bucks you will make, not to mention all the extra labor and dealing with mouth breathers trying to offer you pocket link for parts.

Just source a good deal on the motor and trans, and save yourself the headache.

The red interior is pretty much worthless. Doors, hood, trunk as long as they are rust free worth maybe $500 total. Bumpers and ground effects, couple hundred. Top, top motor, quarter window motors, worth a few hundred.

You might able to part it out and what you make would cover cost of the car and travel expense, giving you a free motor and trans. Might be worth it, but consider your time dismantling everythjng

I still think v8 swapping a rare, clean, e36 vert is a mcsteak. Even if the car isn't worth much money.

Does the donor have to be OBD I? I see plenty of deals like this for explorer 5.0s:

$300 for a runner is pretty cheap - even if you still need to buy a computer and transmission.

plus there are SN95 donors:

Thanks to everyone’s suggestions. Yes, I think I’ll pass on this and piece together the parts I need over time.

Kinda sad to realize I don’t have time for these sorts of serendipitous trips for vehicles and parts, but with my luck I’d put more into a donor car than I would just sourcing parts.
