zeitgeist57
My 2007 CTS-V is making a stinky burning-gear-lube out of the rearend after it’s been driven, like diff fluid is leaking on the exhaust. Just saw 3 drops of fluid where the car was sitting. Haven’t gotten it up in the air yet, but Googled and found a TSB for a leaky diff vent issue. https://ls1tech.com/forums/attachments/cadillac-cts-v-2004-2007-gen-i/348664d1333919205-rear-diff-vent-instructions-pictures-tsbdiferentialvent_.pdf Is there any way to validate whether my car was affected by this, or if I can still have the repair done? EDIT: I guess I’m not sure the difference between a recall and a TSB... Edited August 29, 2018 by zeitgeist57
STEVE-O
Tsb is a common failure that is know... a recall is when it is bad enough they will cover the repair free of charge to avoid lawsuits lol
aussiek2000
Yes, that TSB is out there. But as mentioned, TSB's are diagnostic aids, not recalls. You'd be responsible for paying for the repair.
