Mace1647545504
I got an email from some gun place as saw the g1 shield 9mm down to 279. This used to be some of the pistols to purchase. What has happened..are they junk..is it the new g2 is that much better? Inquiring minds what to know! Mojoe
The G1s have been sold as low as $239 from what I’ve seen. The improvements made on the G2’s are good improvements. But, I would say that the price that you’re seeing on the G1 is simply trying to get rid of the old stock. I wouldn’t hesitate from buying one, but I would certainly be looking at under $250. Mace1647545504
I never owned one..what did they do to improve it? Read several posts about some problems...but that's several posts against 1000s sold
Mojoe
I've heard the 2.0 is lighter with more grip and a better trigger. But that's not saying there was an issue with the old trigger. It is long time common for many people to go to an Apex trigger with all MP pistols. I've done it twice, but really never noticed any difference. That said, most people do it. I can't justify the Shield in a .40, but that's my personal opinion. I think in 9mm it is a great option for the price and functionality. I got a stupid deal on G43, or I may have gone with a Shield in 9mm. Only other gun I would look at is about $500, and that is the Sig 365. I have not handled one yet, but I like the concept and the 10 round ability. I did hear there was something people were having an issue with, but I forget what it was and wasn't a serious buyer and brushed it off. It's a Sig and I'm not too surprised if there is an issue, but sure they will fix it.

l36tols1
Would you guys recommend this for a female? I need to buy my gf a gun but I'm not sure if this would be too much for her.
Mojoe
I would say shields have a non-gender bias application.
SRTurbo04
All the good deals locally seem to be not in stock. Been looking for one for under 300.
Mojoe
https://palmettostatearmory.com/smith-wesson-m-p-shieldtm-9mm.html $249 and then pay a local $40 ffa fee for transfer and you are under $300.

Dammit Charlie
I think the Gen1 is a great way of going if you're going to change everything anyways. I've got a Gen1 with a complete Apex trigger setup with the aluminum hinged shoe horn. Great shooter and all in for under $400.
STEVE-O
I snagged mine when they were $309 then had a $75 mail in rebate but that $269 deal is a win for sure. I will jump on that and do a .357 conversion
