I hear about that kind of thing happening more often than not. Love can be tragic that way, no will to live and it's like the body just quits.

I studied that phenomenon in one of my psych classes (yet I don't remember what it was called). It's pretty common in the elderly, that's why it is recommended to make sure that the widow(er) has plenty of hobbies, or comes to live with and help take care of the family when a spouse dies...

:plus1: That happened to my grandparents back in the 90's. Grandma died of cancer and my mom found my grandpa dead of a heart attack a few days later. Complete sadness can wreck havoc on the body. Death by a broken heart is not uncommon with married people.
