Patriot Guard Riders?

I actually thought they are all veterans and only ride cruisers...Hm, how can you ride with them? I first heard of them when we were still stationed in Germany about 4 months ago, when one of the guys I knew died in a MC crash in Belgium. He was flown home to the US and was escorted by the Patriot Guard Riders.

I think it is so awesome when they do their escorts, I have thought about riding with them, but I think I am too emotional for it. :(

Anyone can ride with them. Infact, you do not need to be a rider to stand in the flag line. A lot of Gold Wings and other Japanese bikes there, and a smattering of sportbikes thrown in. I was not the only sportbike there, but am always made to feel welcome.

As for being a veteran. Not necessary. Just a love for the USA.

I ride with the PGR. As others have said, you don't have to be a veteran but a want to honour those who have served and paid the ultimate price.

I try and stay in my local area but will travel a lot farther if there are "uninvited guests" protesting the funerals.

There are actually people protesting against a burial or what are they really protesting against? The military? Being against the military is one thing, but to disturb someones last journey is a very sad act. :(

Yep, there are assholes that do that. Youtube or google Westboro Babtist Chruch. If you youtube them, you will get a better idea of why they are so disgusting.

As you ride the missions, you will feel the rise of emotions. I often tear up if not cry while riding. It comes from knowing that there is Fallen American Hero behind you and people along the route waving flags and holding signs.

Exactly.

Amazing huh. Many people don't realize what these men and women died for. They don't realize if it want for these troopers, we would be speaking with a British accent or German. What would happen if Al Qaeda came to the US and set up concentration camps, put them in it and an American soldier fought for a freed them? Would they protest that too???? If they don't like this country then get the hell out.

OMG! How can "christian" people be so self righteous???? It brings chills down my spine... So sad. I remember the interview with the crazy B*tch on Sean Hannity's Fox News.

I am a very peaceful person, but these people bring out the worst in me and I would probably become physical if I would ever run into any of these.

Ignorant Morons!!!!!!

I must say though, I think all these young people losing their lives over there have died in a country that will never change... Not saying that because I disagree with them being there, but they are being slaughtered and that is what upsets me to no end.

Not in battle but by roadside bombs, put there by cowards, with these soldiers never standing a chance.... :(

Bring our troops home - ALIVE!!!

I've been on 2 missions so far. The first was a welcome home. My wife and I went. Good thing since only 2 others showed up since it was a weekday. But we got most of the people in the airport to cheer. A lot of people came up to us afterward and thanked us and asked about the Patriot Guard.

The second was a funeral. Very sad but it gave us a good feeling to be able to help.
