Just bought these for my trailer!

These things are sweet! You just leave them on the trailer at all times, and just pull the strap and lock them on the bike... No more fooling around with the typical tie down straps!

I bought 4 of them... 2 for the front and 2 for the back!

Just something different to consider for next year if you do a lot of loading and unloading of your bike, atv, or anything else!

good choice!!! i dont own a set yet pretty much because i dont own a trailer anymore but when i buy a trailer this is going to get purchased with it.

and those ratchet straps are pretty schweeet as well. but once again they are a permanent fix, so without a trailer to bolt them to they are no good for me :(

Pit Bull makes some pretty sturdy stuff; I don't even question their quality. I had a standard rear wheel stand I donated to my friend when I made the move from CA. Overall, they use thicker and wider metal tubing and the welds are very solid.

This is what I have on my trailer. They're a cheap solution but according to a the trailer mfr. who custom built our trailer, they're a direct knock-off of a Canadian maker who charges 2-3 times as much for the same thing. These and a couple tie downs lasted the whole cross country trip for the two big bikes that were towed.

The pit-bull system isn't really very much like the 'condor' style front wheel-chocks.

Pit-bull's setup holds the bike up by the REAR axle with no straps at all. it's not that i don't trust straps, but I don't like compressing my forks for the 2-9 hour drive to various tracks (or overnight if i load the bike early). And if one of my tires were to go flat for some reason, the pit-bull setup continues to hold it up. straps become loose.

the only reason i haven't bought them already is because my truck bed isn't long enough. you CAN mount the plate in front of the rear wheel, but my swing-arm spools would have to be removed to clear the restraint arm.

I'll be in teh market for a trailer soonish.

Whats the wheel choc that claims you don't need anything else but it. No straps or anything.

Edit: Found it. Anyone ever use one of these? Watched a vendor demostration at daytona and he claimed there is no need for straps. Doesn't say anything in product description tough.

I have the pit-bull trailer restraints mounted in my trailer. I have had spools on the bikes I've used them on and haven't had an issue with them getting in the way if mounted in front of the axle. If for some strange reason you couldn't get around the spools this could be a way around it.

I got a couple of those harbor freight ones I dont even strap the front end. I just throw a couple straps on the rear to keep it from bouncing side to side. Numerous trips to the tail and other places never a problem.

WARNING...

The auto retracting ratchet straps at Autozone do not last. Maybe to tie down a baby stroller. The release bends and then you have to use a screwdriver to pry on a tab tucked inside the plastic housing to get them to release. Not fun.
