powdercoating exhaust?

If all goes as planned I will be scoring a Leo Vince exhaust from ebay at a crazy steal. The issue is that its stainless steal and would stick out like a sore thumb on my bike. Can it be powdercoated without any adverse effects?

Depending on the temperatures the part will see in use,

it will be either Ceramic Thermal Barrier Coated or Powder Coated.

The exhaust headers would have to be Ceramic Thermal Barrier Coated.

The exhaust tip could be regular Powder Coated.

Parts in between would be coated based on usage temperatures.

Standard powder coatings cure at 275F and higher.

Approaching or exceeding that temperature on a regular powder coated part wouldn't be good.

There are a couple of different types of powder with different cure temps and there are high temp powders that can see 1000F in use. There are powders suitable for a midpipe and canister. If you want the headers done to get it all ceramic coated

I had Mills Metal Works coat Schmuckgirl's Leo on her GSXR and the coating came off were the exhaust gases actually met metal. Were the packing was it stayed. Call these guys and have it ceramic coated, cuts down heat and keeps it inside the muffler.

That VHT stuff is junk, Ive seen turbo guys use it and it flakes right off after the first good dyno pull. I know they have a lot more exhuast heat due to restriction but bikes have thinner walled exhaust and rev higher and use different materials, I would say ceramic coated FTW
