Lost
I would not sink a tone of money in a flat panel. As mentioned before go cheap that way when it blows up it is less of loss. When I replaced my XBR tube the date of manufacture on it say June 198965 inch plasma.......I would ask myself how much heat does it generate per hour and how many amps it draws to run. I have a friend with a 50" plasma that he cannot run in the summer because the AC can't keep up Edited December 15, 2009 by Lost added question

Tomcat0403
Service plans are a good idea in case they do break...especially on the bigger TVs...not to mention we actually give you the purchase price to buy a new one...not a "similar" TV
