fox_racing_guy
I thought this would have been a bigger story around here. If this pans out in the end it could be great for Ohio in general. http://www.wkyc.com/news/health/health_article.aspx?storyid=129290&catid=
gearman
That is some great news. Unfortunately, people are far more interested in the apocalyptic. Murder and mayhem rule.

ReconRat
That's the way to do it, accidental discovery. There's also has been breakthroughs in the use of lasers to kill cancer cells only.As best as I can describe it, the laser is frequency tuned to kill only cancer cells. And it is used with multiple lasers, that form a holographic pattern to attack only the specific area of cancer cells.Translation: Holographic disrupter laser tuned for cancer cells only. I suspect that it's a spinoff from mil-spec research into... disrupter ray weapons.

Harb67
It's cool, but anyone who reads science blogs or even a site like digg.com regularly can tell you that it seems like someone discovers a new miracle cure for cancer, aids, whatever at least once a week. All of the stories end the same way "preliminary tests were promising, but it will be a long time before it sees human testing".

max power
This is promising. My dad is going in for surgery on 2/2 to have an experimental procedure done to fight off his brain cancer. 4 holes will be drilled in his head and some kind of liquid (not sure if its radioactive or not, might be Pepsi) poured through the holes directly onto the cancer cells on his brain in an attempt to kill them. The Dr.s say they have had a good success rate with this. We have our fingers crossed.
