Bluezx6r
I'm Not sure if it was because my Friend wrecked my bike but every thing seems to be going wrong lately... First i needed new Plastics and a headlight assembly. Then the coolant started to disappear, The the taillight fell off.. NOW my speedometer quit working. Once i get up in speed it starts to jump around to different numbers. then when i let off it kinda corrects itself until i pull the throttle again. Any ideas on what this could be?? chevysoldier
The gear in the speedo or in the wheel side is worn out most likely. Where the cable connects.
Bluezx6r
I mean could it have anything to do with the wreck? Also any tips on where to find and check the Gears out to see if they are warn?
chevysoldier
I wouldn't think it'd be from being wrecked, not if it's intermittent but I could be wrong. The speedo is cable driven on those isn't it? There should be a cable connected at the front wheel that goes to your speedo. Unscrew the ends and inspect the ends of the cable and where the cable connects for wear. conn-e-rot
Speedo is electronic.... the speed sensor is on the left side runs off the front sprocket retainer nut.... do you have a speedo healer on it? have you recently changed sprockets? conn-e-rot
could have damaged the speedo but i would check the plugs and the sensor first maybe you'll get lucky and just a loose connection
kawi kid
does kinda sound like a loose connection like conn said.

Cheech
Did you check your speedo fluid?make sure to tell him to properly bleed the tach. you always fuck that part up and think you're bouncing off the rev limiter at idle.
