Tar Snakes...WTF

Run Michelins and you won't even notice they are there other than seeing them.

there are some down the street from my house that cause my michelin PPs to slip on a regular basis

the fresh ones always get me but I've never had any trouble from older ones.

I rode across one monday in a parking lot and felt the front slide. and that was 10-15mph.

got to where I was headed and the side of my tire was covered in tar. it must have been put down in the last few days.

putnam park (track) is covered in them. but they are either old and cured or a different material than what the dot uses. because they are not slippery at all. (you can even see one in my avatar)

At least I know I'm not alone and my paranoia is somewhat justified. I just found it really weird that I've never felt the front do anything over them and now with the new tire it's all over the place.

if you look, lots of tracks have them. they must use something different than the DOT.
