Unless they get fried, dropped, or broken, they never break. I wouldn't buy a white plastic macbook again, but these aluminum ones are beasts. Do you?I do have to agree about the aluminum ones being pretty durable. Don't know how many times I've dropped this damn thing off the bed/couch/car/etc.
jagr
2 MacBook pros here. Never any software issues. Just got a 3 year old off warranty battery replaced free from Apple. Newest (this year) MBP had a trackpad issue that couldn't be replicated at the store so they replaced it just to be sure. But you all already know im an Apple Fanboi. natedogg624
you'll spend the same amount of money in the long run when you have to replace that virus infested PC i switched over this year and haven't been happier. especially with the iphone and tons of easy remote capabilities. Never had a virus (I don't surf porn sites or open odball emails), it runs all the software I need to use flawlessly.Other than having to reformat the hard drive a year and a half ago its been completely trouble free (knock on wood). If this one takes a shit tomorrow, I'll buy another $400 windows machine that could last me another 4-5 years. 10 years worth of computing with pc's for the same price as a mac with a smaller screen - not too shabby in my book. How many of you guys sucking the mac pipe are using 10 year old machines? My guess is ZERO.

Don't know how many times I've dropped this damn thing off the bed/couch/car/etc.Nope, no problems with my Mac software. Windows 7 runs great here. I;ve also dropped this Toshiba laptop a couple times, but I am careful with stuff. Oh yeah, I've had a couple kinds of beer spilled in it as well (real beer, and root beer) without incident, other than a couple keys got a little sticky for a while.2 MacBook pros here. Never any software issues. Just got a 3 year old off warranty battery replaced free from Apple. Newest (this year) MBP had a trackpad issue that couldn't be replicated at the store so they replaced it just to be sure. But you all already know im an Apple Fanboi.Fixed.Apple does have pretty good customer service. See below about trendy...you'll spend the same amount of money in the long run when you have to replace that virus infested PC i switched over this year and haven't been happier. especially with the iphone and tons of easy remote capabilities.$528 shipped to my door, Toshiba, dual core AMD (I prefer of intel) 17" display, etc... basically mid level a year and a half ago.I'll disagree with you on that one.I've got a notebook with a 15.4" screen that I paid around $400.00 for nearly 5 years ago. How many of you guys sucking the mac pipe are using 10 year old machines? My guess is ZERO.I have a PC running in my closet, serving email that is over 10 years old at the core (motherboard, cpu, ram.) I actually bought some of the parts off ebay about 4 years ago, and added some old parts I had laying around. Never had an issue!Ok kid.How old is the Mac you have now? Will you still be using it when its 10 years old?For the record, I have 10+ year old PC's at the shop that we're STILL using. We have a machine running windows 95 at the shop, and win 95 was current when it was new. I have to admit, it was having issues a few months ago, but that turned out to be just a bad CPU fan. Macs are trendy. They have to be on top of their game to keep that market. I don't think I really need to say any more than that.
