chevysoldier
Honestly, compulsory services bills aren't noteworthy.A compulsory service bill that gets a hearing before a committee (never mind a vote in that committee), would be surprising. One that was brought to the House floor would be shocking, and passing through the House is pretty much unthinkable. And passing through the Senate would be about impossible. And then overriding the absolute certain veto simply wouldn't happen. Ain't no thing.Thats the mentality 10-20 years ago about a black or female president. lol
magley64
Many countries have this mandatory service and it works flawlessly. I don't care one way or another about it, but don't believe it is fair to stereotype all draftees as inferior soldiers.I have no doubt it works, but I can't imagine it's flawless. YSR_Racer_99
"to enforce national security"??? When Dems won't even follow their own laws, and secure the borders? More hypocrisy....Next time I get pulled over (Uhm, I mean "if I ever get pulled over again") I'm going to tell them I'm illegal so don't have to show insurance nor a drivers license. If that works, I'll drop my insurance altogether. Then I'll put the money toward a faster car. Was at the eye doctor the other day, finally had to order glasses. The nice lady behind the counter asked if I had insurance. Told her "no, just go ahead and bill Obama". Rambling over. More coffee!!

Ain't no thing.Especially since it was sponsored by Charlie Rangel (remember him?!) and he's been sponsoring such bills for the last 5 years now. Again, dear Fox News DERPers, Fartbongo (thought I would refer to him with a name you are familiar with)'s got nothing to do with this.Thats the mentality 10-20 years ago about a black or female president. lolFalse equivalence is false. chevysoldier
False equivalence is false. Not hardly. Was the same thing for Kennedy. A Catholic president.
Vulcan_Rider
Bills just like this have been introduced a bunch of times over the years. The only reason this one is getting any press is because the president is half black and someone decided to call it the slavery bill. Tigerpaw
I always thought something along these lines would be a sure way to end our current wars. National security would be more than something on your television. Then again, we all DESERVE freedom at someone elses expense:rolleyes:
AOW
Get it straight SirHoo-rah/Ooh-rah is Marine CorpsHuah/oo-ha (or some such shit) is Army. (soldier)Please continue.it's common "courtesy" for soldiers of different branches not to acknowledge the "battle cry" of the other soldiers. It's good spirited clean fun. Rod38um
I dont think the socialist agenda for "service" is what we typically think of as Military service. Obama and others have spoken many times of a civilian service that our youth would have to participate in to serve our country in civilian ways..... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wGW136RLhSM&feature=related

Me and an Aussie Spec. Ops got into it in Tahoe a month back. GOOD TIMES!!! We ended up on the same side when a couple of Coast Guard boys wandered into the bar.NEVER GET DRUNK WITH AN AUSSIE! Cheech
I thought it was the Kiwis that you had to watch your six around? The Kiwi I partied with in Brisbane devolved into a bumbling drunk in no time. Had no concept of pacing yourself, we barely hit the second bar at 11PM and he's absolutely shitfaced, trying to talk at you with his head an inch from your ear. Third bar at 1AM and we're trying to keep him from passing out. His Australian roommate declined to go as he's trying to tamp down his alcoholism. The Brit I was with and I held out through 3 bars, a strip club, and a casino until 6AM, leaving the casino just in time to watch the streetlights go out./cool story, bro
