Vegas with an Asian

First of all, I know we have had vegas threads, I acutally do you the search button. :D

I just wanted to start a new thread cuz all the kool kids are doing it. Basically just wanted to get opinions before I book this trip. Asian Rob and I are going to Vegas for a few days. Just two brothers away for a few days. IM FUCKING STOKED!!! and very happy I have just a good friend to do this with. BTW, he is home safe from the sand box after a year and in currently in Indiana....anyway

I have talked a few people here at work and they know how I roll and say that we would have a good time at MGM. There are just so many options I want to make sure we pick a good place to stay. Definitely has to be on the main strip.

So anyone gone within the past 6months or so that would warn to stay away from "bad" places? Just looking for a lil insight. Cheech, No need to waste your time typing a long response like you did in previous vegas threads. Rob and I will be discussing things with you in person soon. :D

So does anyone object to MGM for a couple of 24 year olds?

Any clubs or shows that are absolutely required to hit?

We will be there from Wednesday to Sunday or Monday.

thanks in advance mudda fuddas!

New york new york was nice.

But you are just going to be sleeping where ever you stay. You may go to the club that is in the hotel one night but then the next go somewhere else. Stay cheap!

Check out Southwest.com for vacation bookings.

Ive been to vegas many times since I was stationed 3 hrs away. Going back again in October.

Great deals can be had on airfare and hotel on your vacation type websites: travelocity, priceline, etc.

MGM is really south on the Strip. If you want something more central for walking purposes I would stay at Caesars, Palazo, Mirage area. Harrah's owned hotels offer Military discount. No doubt MGM is nice though as well as Planet Hollywood.

The hottest club in Vegas right now is Haze at Aria...but since both of you have penii (purely speculation)...you wont be able to get in. XS at the Wynn comes in a close second is pimptastic...as well as Tryst. The line at Tryst can move fast if you get there early. If rolling in a decent group, I just pony up for bottle service (about 2 bills a bottle).

The BEST buffet in vegas is at the M Resort...off strip but well worth the cab ride. The seafood at the Rio is ok, but I didnt think it was worth the hype.

Monte Carlo has cheap craps as well as Slots-O-Fun next to Circus Circus.

Spend a night walking the strip with a bottle of liquor since this is your first time.

Since youre supposedly both dudes dont go to shows together unless this is a romantic vacation. Go to In-N-Out at night if youve never been.

If youre there sunday, go to Rehab at the Hard Rock...this is THE place to be. Girls everywhere in bikinis at the pool...follow it up with Body English late at night.

Edit: Im asian as well. If yall want asian girls go to Tao at the Venetian friday or saturday night. Club is average for vegas standards but one of the best asian buffets next to the oldest strip clube in vegas: Olympic Garden.

Also for strip clubs, Spearmint Rhino is the standard. Sapphire is like a Sam's club only with half naked girls. OG's like I said previously is full of the asians. Dont ever get in a cab and ask them what strip club is best.

So is MGM too far south? I was told its on the end of the strip but more people in their mid 20s stay there. But I guess that doesnt really matter. I guess it would obviously be more intelligent to stay more central stripish so we can see more walking less. I was just lookin on vegas.com and With flight its about 550 a person for the stay and all. Not too shabby

I was the typical Asian in Los Angeles...parents dragged me to Vegas more than two dozen times before I was 16. Practically lived there for most of my summers.

:plus1:for In-n-Out. Gotta have the Animal Fries, and don't forget to walk next door and pick up some In-n-Out swag at the company store.

Walk up and down the Strip and you're bound to find something awesome. It's about 2.5 miles to walk the whole thing and you can always duck into a casino half the time to cool off. Also, there's a monorail that goes from MGM to Bally's to cut off the first mile or so. You can get a day pass so you can hop on whenever you want (I remember the days when it was free).

For motorcycle related-stuff, Vegas is home to H-D Vegas (one of the largest dealership) and Pat Clark Motorsports where you can sit on an MV Augusta or a Bimota for kicks. For other tourist stuff, there's the Liberace museum and Madame Tussaud's Wax Museum at Venetian. The Vegas Mall next to Treasure Island has been severely remodeled so there's lots of outdoor stuff.

Downtown Vegas still uses coin-operated slots so if you're going old-school and carrying around those coin cups. Fremont Street is always a visual sight.

For buffets, I like MGM's and the one inside Planet Hollywood. Another favorite is Dick's Last Resort inside of Excalibur. That one's got bras and undies hanging off the walls and the "rudest" servers you'll ever meet...a total hoot.

If you want to see the hot chicks'a go to the Hard Rock or Palm's. I always stay at the Paris or Treasure Island. They also have a tram that runs the length of the strip. I believe it just opened last year and actually runs behind all of the hotels. The buffet at the Bellagio is excellent but pricey.

Imperial place is in the center of the strip. I just booked rooms for Feb 2011 and the rate during the week Monday night = $25, Tuesday is $25 and Wednesday night is $35. You will only be in the room to sleep/shower, so it does not matter. The car collection at Imperial is very nice too. Being located on the center of the strip makes for a short walk wherever you go. Definately walk through the Belligio ( however you spell it).I am not much for gambling, but the different casinos are nice to visit and people watch.

No worries at all Yotes, I'll just add to this a little. We do need to grab a beer though, it's been quite a while...

+1 on getting package deal. Don't worry about room type if you want to baller it up, you can always change that at the hotel counter. With the amount of cabs hotel location, IMO, is a secondary concern. Can't say enough about Mandalay Bay, I'd stay away from the Venetian and connected hotels. Never stayed at MGM, so can't speak for it.

Find a good VIP host. Waiting in line is for suckers. That being said, you will be paying about 100 to get into the club, and another 400 per bottle (prices quoted at Pure and Tryst 2 years ago, YMMV). Having a sizable group will be huge in offsetting this cost. Enjoy the golddiggers that will come out of the woodwork for the "free" booze.

Virtually anything on Fremont St. is going to be cheaper than the regular strip just because the venues there (Binion's, Golden Nugget, etc.) are so old. O'Shea's next to the Flamingo wasn't too bad pricewise either.

:+15million: Man after my own heart. :)

+1 on the cab thing as well. If you get friendly with some dealers you can ask them, same thing with waiters. Never, EVER, pay for the cab ride to a strip club. Cabbies get a kickback from the club.

I'd love to go again, but I just can't afford to do it my way.

Been there several times, ate at high end places, and dumps. I go to play and drink, a lot. MGM is not too far south, I have been a fixture there for years until Monte Carlo started offering me free suites and free meals. MGM has a lot of nice clubs, Tabu and Studio 54 in particular. Higher end food in the resort, but there are some good cheap places too. The pool at MGM is one of the new hot spots...wet republic. Rehab as said before is cool, but a pricey ticket for a guy. As for any of the clubs in Vegas, they will let the ladies in for free, but almost every one charges for guys to get in. Do not buy the club passes from the guys on the street. If you look around in the respective casinos, the same passes will be laying around in stacks for free. Those people go in and steal stacks and sell them to unsuspecting Vegas noobs as VIP passes. Diablos cantina in front of Monte Carlo is a good spot for happy hour. Ellis Island is a great place to eat, and cheap. Double Down saloon is a good dive. All depends on what you want to do when you get there. PM me if you need info, I have not paid for a room in the last 8-9 years.

Hey Yota book your flight and hotel seperate and directly with each,Diffently fly SWA, And sign up for all the properties email offers you will get better deals and maybe some freebies, When are you going.

MGM is a great place but if you can afford it I would stay at mandalay bay it a great place,It is at the south end of the strip but you can alwaqys use the double duece bus up and down the strip.

And just remember when looking at the next property your going to that its not as close as it seems....

Oh if you want to stay mid strip Planet Hollywood is pretty cool place to stay its one of the few places I have yet to stay at.

Alright. Dilemma.

I am flying round trip there and back. Rob is not, he is visiting family in Cali and wants to fly straight from vegas. Sooo all the good deals I found are worthless cuz you need 2 adults round trip. I guess I will call SWA and try what Rick37 suggested. :dunno:
