LOCAL FIREFIGHTER KILLED IN CRASH

Normally I don't post stuff like this (there's enough doom and gloom in the world that I don't have to spread it), but I ride on that road from time to time and it's a reminder to be extra careful at night.

I just thought it might be important to share these pics. There are pictures of the totaled bike so if for some reason you're squeamish about mechanical destruction, don't click the link.

The article notes the former firefighter was likely killed on impact.

If he did that on a road he knew, it could very well have been an animal in the roadway.
