Watch the Keynote from MacWorld yesterday, new features for iPhone, iPod Touch and more. Apple has their shit together, I will never buy another PC for a long time. Microsoft can kiss my money goodbye, they released Mac 2008 for Intel based macs. All major Applications run on Mac and PC now. There is a great demo of the Apple TV Take 2 in the Keynote below Steve goes through everything.

Fuck Blu-Ray

I highly doubt apple's HD is going to be 1080p. I didnt read anything about quality or resolution. Have you ever seen a blue ray on a TV with 1080p capabilities that was at least 42in. fucking amazing!

The other thing is, I like to own my movies. I like having the collection. Thats just me tho, some people only watch movies once and they are done with them. If thats you, cool. I want to own tho.

Im not saying apple isnt badass, they are! Im jsut saying it will be very hard to compete with the quality of blue ray.

I'm not sold on Apple. My HTC Mogul does much more than the iPhone. There are a decent amount of phones out there that do more than the iPhone. I could bitch about that phone for days but I am sure you all have heard the complaints before.

The Mac Air is a sexy machine, don't get me wrong but they had PCs that small for years. Its not like Apple has just now invented the first new super small laptop. Give me a break.

But to give Apple credit, they did what they do best. They take something that's not entirely new (super small laptop, touch screen cell, etc) and make it cool and sexy. People then loose their shit over it like its the Jesus Phone.

I get a new PC/Laptop about once every 2-3 years. They come out with better processors, graphics cards, screens, etc. so I get a new one. The last laptop I purchased only cost $250 for an ACER. Not the quality of an Apple product but then again, it does everything I need done with 100% efficiency (play music, plays porn, surfs net, stores pics of family) just fine. I don't need to be paying $1700 for an Apple product that will do the same thing for me. No thanks Steve Jobs, I'll use that other $1500 bucks for something else thank you much.

Apple TV is cool and that looks like something I'll buy EVENTUALLY. What keeps me from getting it is the fact that movies will expire whether or not you view them. That's the beauty of Netflix, you can get a movie and keep it for weeks without having to send it back. If Apple can let me keep a movie, at least until I watch it once, then that's a product I'll get.

We are switching to iPhones Jan 27th, I may walk out with the New Macbook Air, New Time Capsule, Apple TV Take 2. :)

i love my iPhone. i have owned it for about 3 months now and i cant be any happier with a phone, the only setbacks in my opinion are the lack of MMS (aka picture and video messaging) and video recording. if you have grown fond of those two features i dont know what to tell you other than they are supposed to send us an update for the MMS soon. but no word on the video recording  it happens though, you cant have it all.

And apple is doing all the right stuff nowadays, if the pc guys dont step it up apple is going to mow them over. i was even more impressed with apple customer service, just for future ref.

agreed why spend 3x the $$$$ when you can get the same power IF NOT MORE from a pc cheaper to build and doesnt need "proprietory" components (memory) to work.....FUCK APPLE

Ive had an iPhone since Thanksgiving, I love it, but there are a few things it falls way short on, lack of MMS, which you can get away with by using the email on the phone, its not that hard really. Inability to send a text to more than one person (this is apparently fixed in the 1.1.3 firmware update available later this week) lack of GPS on a phone with a dedicated google maps feature. Seriously, WTF were you thinking here? Its like selling Porsches that don't have a key or ignition. Yeah it looks pretty, but basicly useless for getting your ass anywhere... In the 1.1.3 upgrade they added cell tower triangulation to locate you apparently, and a few other features to actually make it worth a damn.

The screen on it is amazing, ive seen other phones that do all this and more, but nothing with this brilliant of a screen. I'm in Tulsa OK right now, posting on my iPhone, loaded in 4 movies for the plane ride out and back on it too. The movies look awesome on here. For most reasonable uses its replaced my laptop. I don't even bring it on trips anymore, this thing does more than enough to keep me connected.

And the key board isnt bad at all once you get used to using it. It is a major pain in the ass the first time you use it though.

What, have you rented a single movie at BB recently? I did last week, it was $5 for a day but you get a week grace period to return it. Hell that was a standard DVD, I am willing to bet Blu-Ray movies are more to rent there than the 4.99 Apple offers. With Apple there is no trip to or from the store, fuck renting a movie and waiting for it to come in the mail if you don't want to go to the store.

I have watched 720p shows and 1080P movies via an Xbox on my LC-52D64U and I really can't see a difference.

well you got ma on the BB thing cause i do netflix now sooooo touche :).......and you can watch movies on the computer with netflix.....and as for HD movies, I BUY, if it a good one that is.....and 1080p on the xbox? HDMI cable? Elite box?? I thought the xbox hd player would only do 1080i, and if you wanted p you had to get a table unit , but this info could be wrong....but i HAVE seen the diff between 1080p and 720 p on a 1080p HDTV

and remember the 120hz tvs are hitting the market whoot!!!!

its neat stuff, and apple is one of thest marketing companies out there. (right next to coke and budweiser) i think thats about all there is to say about it.

they are great at advertising but they do make an intuitive product. I have had phones and gadgets that I owned and could even use half of the features, but anyone can pick up an ipod or iphone and within a couple of minutes have the whole thing figured out

New upgrade Also allows you to move the icons around on the screen and make more than one page. You can even switch the four icon around on the bottom, and if there is a website you frequent, you can set that as an icon... like a shortcut on your desktop. That phone is sweet.

Apples are great! I will have the iPhone when MMS is available...and the keyboard gets better. I can't text for shit on that screen. I don't plan on using with ATT either, so I will lose visual VM...I really like that feature. That new notebook is awesome!
