ABC News Joins Obama- Bans American Flag Lapel Pins-ABC NEWS BANS FLAG LAPEL PINS

Barbara Walters said that this was going to hurt ABC bad.

As you know she works for ABC .

ABC NEWS BANS FLAG LAPEL PINS!

YESTERDAY THE BRASS AT ABC NEWS ISSUED ORDERS FORBIDDING REPORTERS TO WEAR LAPEL PIN AMERICAN FLAGS OR OTHER PATRIOTIC INSIGNIA. THEIR REASONING WAS THAT ABC SHOULD REMAIN NEUTRAL ABOUT 'CAUSES'.

SINCE WHEN IS SUPPORT FOR PREVENTING DEATH AND DESTRUCTION SOME SORT OF A 'CAUSE'? SINCE WHEN IS PATRIOTISM TO BE DISCOURAGED?

I URGE YOU TO BOYCOTT ABC AND ITS SPONSORS AND AFFILIATES. WE ARE SLOWLY, no RAPIDLY LOSING EVERYTHING OUR COUNTRY STANDS FOR AND EVERYTHING OUR MEN AND WOMEN FOUGHT AND DIED TO PRESERVE!

PLEASE FORWARD THIS TO AS MANY AS YOU CAN.

THIS HAS BEEN VERIFIED THROUGH:

It's Okay I have banned/boycoted the following items:

1. Gay pride flag

2. Obama Campaign stickers

3. Any flag with green on it

4. cable TV

5. All talk shows on TV and Radio

6. All Tv show hosts who don't rely on comedy to relay information

7. Politicians who feel the American public needs more government control to help save our money, protect our health or make our decisions for us.

You're missing the full story.

http://www.snopes.com/rumors/noflags.asp

After the 11 September 2001 terrorists attacks on the United States, many Americans were eager and proud to visibly affirm their support for their country by adorning themselves, their homes, their workplaces, and their cars with various patriotic symbols: U.S. flags, red, white, and blue ribbons, flag lapel pins, flag posters, etc.

This outbreak of patriotic fervor created a dilemma for the news departments of television networks, however. It had been a long-standing practice among all the networks - going back decades before the 9/11 attacks - that on-air journalistic personnel should not visibly wear or otherwise display lapel pins, ribbons, or buttons bearing national flags or national colors, or any other form of patriotic adornments or insignia.

After the 9/11 attacks, some on-air personnel in network news departments expressed interest in bending that rule, a circumstance that led to a contentious public debate about the appropriateness of such displays - one side claiming that journalists should be allowed to exhibit symbols of their patriotism just as much as any other Americans, the other holding that journalists should refrain from wearing such items in order to maintain an image of impartial neutrality and lessen the chances that they (especially reporters working overseas) could be harmed by those who might view them as an arm of the American government.

And again...

Please note that when the message above says ABC News banned flag lapel pins "yesterday," it's referring to a date in 2001, shortly after the terrorist attacks of September 11. This was not a recent event.

And although it's true that ABC News instituted such a ban, the network's stated reasons were somewhat more cogent than what is indicated above. According to ABC spokesman Jeffrey Schneider, the network saw it as necessary to protect its reporters' credibility, not to mention their personal safety abroad.

ABC News Joins Obama...

Kinda says it all. Nothing to see here, move along, move along.

Soon it will politically in-correct to admit there ever was a USA.

It's easier to hide from creditors that way.
