Im in the middle of doing a group buy for Gemtech suppressors. If anyone is interested, send me an email and I will give you price quotes. There are currently no dealers that I am aware that can beat my pricing. Plus if you get in, Adam will get his cheaper heh

(I hope this is ok, I did send in the advertising fee yesterday :D)

It really depends on what model you want. I cant list the prices online because of the MAP rules, but if you send me an email I will reply with pricing.

The 5.56 can I like best is the Halo. The .308 would probably be a quicksand. Realistically, the quick sand is expensive, but you could get mounts for both your ar and 308 and use that can on both guns.

How much does that cost? And aprox how many rounds will it run until it reaches that certain weight? When running them on an ar does it create cycling problems robbing gas from the gas block?

More rounds than you will probably ever shoot. 30,000 + There are also other methods to clean them without sending them out. They do create additional blowback on an ar but the amount of blowback depends on the ar , ammo, can, etc. Generally you wont run into cycling problems unless you are using subsonics or have modified your setup with different buffer weights, springs, etc

I plan on adding 2-3 more cans to the collection by the end of summer :)

Yeah most likely you wont ever have to worry about it. I know one particular person who has in the range of 10.000 rounds of full auto fire through his Halo and it still works fine.

For an AR, a gas buster charging handle is recommended as well, other wise you get carbon in your face that leaks through.

I want to see one in action sometime.

A personal favorite of mine, he teaches tactical carbine classes here in C-Bus. This is a halo.

This year I'm going to one up him. Im going to cook an entire honeybaked ham on the giant can for my M10. Should be delicious.

I sent this to a couple people who had questions, here is a generalized "how do you buy a suppressor" guide. Coincidentally it is the same for doing a machine gun also.

Step 1. Find the suppressor you want and buy it.

Step 2. The dealer you buy the suppressor from will fill out an ATF

form 4 in duplicate which is the Application for tax paid transfer and

registration of an NFA item.

Step 3. You will take this form to your chief of police where you live

and he must sign and date both copies, which tells the ATF he trusts

you to have an NFA item.

Step 4. You must attach 1 passport photo to each Form 4.

Step 5. You must have 2 sets of ATF finger print cards completed,

which can probably be done at the police station when the chief signs

off your letter.

Step 6. Write a check to the BATFE for $200, then put everything in a

large envelope.

Step 7. Mail the letter to: Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives

National Firearms Act Branch

P.O. Box 530298

Atlanta, GA 30353-0298

Step 8. Wait, and wait, and wait some more.

Step 9. When the dealer gets the form 4 back in the mail, he will call

you to come pick up your suppressor.

There are 3 big "rules' to owning NFA items.

First, The item must ALWAYS be in your possession. When you don't have

it on you, it must be locked somewhere secure where only you have

access. You can never loan these items to anyone for any reason,

however they may be used by others as long as you are present.

Second, Make ALOT of copies of your returned form 4. Lock up the

original and put copies everywhere. Keep them with the gun, put them

in your car. Put them in your gun case, put them in your desk at work.

You never want to be without a copy when you have the suppressor out

and about. Alot of cops still do not know about the NFA act and the

form 4 keeps you out of trouble.

Third, Suppressors are not legal in every state. Michigan being one of

them. So dont ever take it out of the state without first getting the

proper information about what you must do to take it into another

state (and if you are allowed too).

I hope you guys find this helpful.
