Hello to all.......I'm new here, but not new to motorcycling.

38 yrs old, been riding since age 11 - started in the dirt, probably like a lot of you did and in my late teens got into street riding. If interested, here's my 411.....

First dirtbike birthday '84 got a used '77 XR75 ( w/HRC exhaust. Beat the brakes off this poor little bike for 2 yrs - couldn't hardly kill it, one durable little ride - just outgrew it )

Next dirtbike at age 14 was '87 CR125 ( bought for me new, eventually totalled it later same year - broken frame at Kenworthy's MotoX track in Troy, OH ) Dad made me stop after that......guess my teens were too crazy for his wallet?

Age 18, first streetbike - '82 Kaw 550LTD ( w/Kerker 4-1 Meg......crashed it later the same year.......fixed it, sold it. )

Stopped riding street for about 6 years and went back to dirt again.

'79 RM250 ( low, long, and fast til it blew the trans apart - sold )

'84 CR250 ( good harescramble special - had a couple seasons - sold )

'81 YZ465 ( stupid fast widowmaker - rode one enduro with it, and it whooped my ass - I got mad respect for you guys that rode these things! sold )

'96 CR250R ( currently at midpoint of ground up resto project )

'97 YZF1000R ( got back into street riding in '01, bought this to build a trackbike with my Dad - went too far and couldn't legally streetride it anymore - Dad died, just couldn't continue to race without him.......sold '09 )

'08 Kawasaki ZX14 ( Bought slightly used in '09 - This machine simply demands it's rider's respect - love it, but I'm not racing this bike - just an occasional trackday )

Anyway, my plan is to ride until I can't get a leg over anymore. Would eventually like to get a "better" sport tourer than what I've got now to see more of this continent - but there's plenty of time for that, so for now let's hit some trackdays or the Gap!!

:welcome: man! I see you ventured over from bikeland. ;)

Whenever the weather breaks you'll have to ride with my friend and I down here a few times. I got your # still.

Thanks for the Welcome fella's -- Hey Nick, yeah I'm networking myself around quite a bit this year hahaha......definitely get in touch with me, buddy of mine in New Carlisle just upgraded to a Fireblade from his old F2 - so, he's ready to ride this year as well......figured I'd have better luck meetin' other riders and new places to ride here than the other forums, not too many from Bikeland in our area. Glad this forum exists!!

I've seen an atomic silver Connie or 2, north dayton on I-70 east Hu"briar"Heights area and I-75 south of TippCity - may have been you, or maybe not......wanted to ride today, but weather is being an absolute anus

Let me know when you're taking the 14 to the track. I want to see just how much one of those will walk away from a race-prepped 600 on a straightaway.

seems like spending a couple of sessions losing you on the back straight and trying to real you back in through the corners could be a fun time :D

welcome.

A race-ready 600 would be a good fight since I'm not much of an experienced track rider, though I'd definitely eat you up on the straights if I'm within a few bike lengths of you on the exit -- but that depends on how hard you lose me with that corner shredder. Turn by turn at MidOhio, you'd catch me no problem since I wouldn't walk ya too far anyway.....people were funny the first trackday I did with the 14, I could see 'em staring at me every pass and once i got back to the pits everyone was checkin' out the bike.....the few that did stop and talk said they hadn't seen a 14 at MidOhio and didn't know what I was riding - guess it's kind of a rare breed over there hahaha.

redkow97, after reading some of the trackday posts you've put up here I'm not sure I'd put my 14 up against your 600!! I'm nowhere near CCS or WERA riding capabilities, I just have fun partaking in some laps once in a while and faired lucky once up against a couple 1000's that were about as inexperienced as I.......would be a bad thing to have everyone laughing their asses off at me trying to catch you with more than twice the cc's helpin' me out........hahahaha........Ok, Ok, I'll watch my boasting from now on!! Still would like to have fun at a trackday together, I'm sure I could learn loads from you
