KL9 F4i
Anyone one here use or have any idea where I can get CAD for a Mac without spending $4000? I really would like to try to avoid downloading a bunch of B.S. from torrent or something like that also...
AOW
do you need full blown CAD or would a CAD viewer suffice?
jblosser
Autodesk (AutoCAD) will give you a 30 day free trial version.
KL9 F4i
do you need full blown CAD or would a CAD viewer suffice? Not sure what CAD viewer is? I guess I should have been more specific. I took a CAD course back in high school and I really enjoyed toying with it. I like to design my own furniture and other miscellaneous things and CAD is much easier and more fun than the old pencil and paper.

jblosser
you could try Google SketchUp, there's a MAC version.never used it, but from the gallery section there appear to be some pretty intricately done drawings.
RSVDon
Dual boot. Install Windows XP SP2 using BootCamp. Then run whatever program you want. But you're not going to find one for free. It either costs, or you torrent it. There's no "safe and free" download where you just click a site link.

RSVDon
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1461There's also an install guide on the website. Boot Camp allows you to install Windows XP on your Mac. Then when you turn it on, you can choose between Mac OSX or Windows operating system. This is what I do to run Unigraphics NX5 on my MacBook Pro.
