TenTwelve
I learned to ride on a Skirtster. I put a lot of work trying to make it faster and smoother at speeds. I ride an Italian Twin now... Don't have to fuss with a thing to get it to perform anymore. Amen brother! Even though it's an Austrian twin.
ReconRat
I think if you look at specs, the 1200 doesn't weigh any more than the 883. A compelling reason to upgrade the displacement. The dry weight reported for both, from various sources, will unfortunately vary from 500 to 550 depending on where you look.edit: I tried to pin the weight difference down a couple of years ago, and I came up with the 1200 is 5 pounds more.... cfd37buckeye
Shop around partner, I just picked up a nice Road King for $7500
wantahertzdonut
After having owned one I second that statement. What's the story behind it? I only ask because if I had to own a Harley, that would be the one. It wants to be a sporbike, it looks nice, and if most of the hardcore HD guys hate it, all the better. DGTL GRL
Honestly, you won't be happy with an 883. Maybe a 1200. Looked at the Yamaha VStar? Not a Harley, but cheaper and compared to the Sportster, I think a better bang for the buck.agreed.
