chevysoldier
A real shooter wouldn't need a range finder. Eyeball it.

So again does anyone have any recommendations or experience with any of these?I'd stay away from the package deal stuff. I like Leupold stuff, any of those two will do. looks like their only good for around 750 yards. If you have the extra money, I'd go for this model. It has a angle calculator built into it, for taking angle shots. Hell, when I went to school, I used a crapy golf one. But, we only trained at 300 yards max. http://www.cabelas.com/product/Leupold-RX-1000i-TBR-Compact-Rangefinder-with-DNA/1161086.uts?Ntk=AllProducts&searchPath=%2Fcatalog%2Fsearch.cmd%3Fform_state%3DsearchForm%26N%3D0%26fsch%3Dtrue%26Ntk%3DAllProducts%26Ntt%3DRangfinders%26x%3D23%26y%3D17%26WTz_l%3DHeader%253BSearch-All%2BProducts&Ntt=Rangfinders&WTz_l=Header%3BSearch-All+Products
fazer1sniper
Mil relation don't run on batteries! But there are alot of cheater lazers out there that do well, but never seen one that is a "never fail" rig. Math is your friend in range finding. kawi kid
I'm just starting to work math with moa. I can do it but it takes me awhile and ground hogs don't wait around to be shot. As far as the shot angle..... I have an app for that

Beegreenstrings
As far as the shot angle..... I have an app for that Now that is funny.Think in Football fields... Learn it. Live it. Use it. Get yourself accustomed to seeing in football fields. Especially for ground hogs... Unless you are out using a spotting scope to find ground hogs you should not have to sit down and run the numbers to take them out. But, If you are, welcome to the fun world of getting serious with your shooting.I shot one last night. It was kind of humerous. Fiances dad was down with his Kubota helping me out with some landscaping. The pig was teasing me across the road. Kept doing the pop and bob checking me out. I ran in and came back out. Sit the AR up. Gave two clicks for the distance. Next time he popped up, wack. Dad-in-law was like nice shot. I just laughed. Asked him if he wanted to try. This is what I got back...Obviously, you and Bob (brother in law in SF), Got this scope thing down. You are the only two I have ever seen sit a rifle down adjust the scope and then get behind it and take a shot that fast. (as he scratched his head looking across the field). Rick, I looked at the yardage (and know the field well) before I ever went to get the rifle. I knew where I was taking the shot from before I went into the house. As for the scope it was zero'ed when it was put away so I knew what I needed to make that shot. He just looks at me and says, "scary".I look at him and say confident prepared and skilled!Oh, yeah we use Nikons when we are shooting archery. Just simple yardage pro 400's. Never needed anything beyond that. Actually they don't make a 100 or 110 That is all I need. That 70 80 90 100 and 110 meter fita crap can get the best of ya... For ranging with a reticle, I'm kinda leaning towards an MOA based reticle with 1 MOA and 2 MOA hashes as its a finer measurement than the half MIL and MIL I currently have. When you are ranging something fairly small like that, a more accurate measurement of the object will result in a closer range estimate. That said, I'm probably going to buy one of the bushnell fusion's that dipshit has. Accurate out to a mile is good enough for me.
flounder
Really,, Why didnt you just call and ask me. Save your money and buy more then you think you will need because will want to range much further then what you can shoot. Not to mention that the better the LRF, the smaller the size of the targets you can range at distance. I think you've played with both of my LRF's and both have their purpose. Oh wait, that is the same distance
