"The subject was also transported to the local hospital with two broken arms, a broken ankle, a broken leg, several missing teeth, possible broken ribs, multiple contusions, assorted lacerations, a broken nose and a broke jaw... injuries he sustained when he slipped and fell off of the curb after stabbing the Marine," according to a police report.

I was once called to testify as a witness downtown and spent three days in a room with a South Columbus Major Case detective. They had a similar injury - a guy shot one of the officers in the arm and then fell off his second story porch. Somehow managed to break just about every rib and really bruise himself up. Must have landed funny. :D

Not sure if that busts anything out. It just says none of the news accounts they examined indicated the suspect was inured. Unless that photo I posted was photoshopped (which it doesn't look like it but it could be) then I'd say they didn't examine enough news accounts. I'd be curious if someone could find the actual newspaper clipping to prove or disprove.

Here is the suspect's booking photo from the Richmond County Jail:

Does that look like he has several missing teeth, a broken nose and a broken jaw? All I can see it what appears to be a bruise near his left eye.

I'm from a military family. I would need more than two hands to count relatives who've served. My baby brother saw active combat as part of the initial invasion of Basra during the Iraq war and came back with stories like watching his team's embedded BBC reporter hit by shrapnel during an insurgent mortar attack. I have travelled to Stirling, Scotland and placed my hand on the name the man who gave me my middle name, on the Cenotaph that lists local war dead. This is not about being anti-military or anything. It's just that I have enough respect for the military without having to knowingly retell an fabricated version of a real event.

http://www.readthebeacon.com/about.html is the link for the newspaper that the story appeared in (The Beacon out of Williams Bay, Wisconsin, April 8th-21st issue). Here is the PDF of the actual issue it appeared in: http://www.readthebeacon.com/issue/040811.pdf (center-right of page 9) Found that from the caption of the photo above the story. The newspaper calls itself "The Beacon and Good Humor".
