I have tried the double or nuthin route and ended up with 2 bags of chips hung up and not dropping down.

These days I just beat the shit out of them.

If i am at work i walk over to the lady who runs the machine and she will refund me. Anywhere else i will shake the machine if the product is hanging, or post and "out of order" note.

I avoid vending machines these days though.
