Hailwood
One thing I've learned over the years is that a bike doesn't need clip-on bars and rearset pegs to be a ton of fun.

redkow97
Be careful. You might be disappointed with the GSX-R after you track the Duc.I suppose that's a matter of perspective. The GSXR will definitely have a lot more potential for faster laps, but that doesn't mean a given rider will be faster or have more fun. In that regard, the GSXR could be "disappointing." there is something to be said for not being super sore at the end of the day, and definitely for monster torque. wantahertzdonut
I took my Tuono out against my better judgement and suggestions of a few and had a great time. In the same day, I took my friend's VTR250 out. Completely different bikes from my SV and each other, and a heap of fun.Go for it!
BadTrainDriver
In 2000, I did a track day at Mid Ohio on my 1999 BMW K1200RS.My buddy was supposed to come along and ride his R1100S.His R1100S needed brake pads(found out the night before), so instead of not going, he rode his dad's 1999 K1200LT.He was still faster than me...He passed me, and I could hear AC/DC blasting on the stereo.True story. Revelstoker
Not worth it. Ducati's are sick expensive to repair. Cosmetic damage will total one (I learned the hard way). I would love to put my KTM SMT on the track but that totally defeats my logic of buying a beater and keeping the expensive bike off the track.
