J_Copeland
What would you guys pay for a used XT?
r1crusher
Depending on condition, $100 or less is the most I've paid. You'll probably pay a little more but I'd say $125 tops.
J_Copeland
Yeah,I figured about 100 was good.I'm gonna try and pick one up to see how slow I really am !
Mykill
I may sell you mine but it wont be for $100 since its only been used once I think.
jbot
jeff, at this point in the season, unless you're gonna be doing a LOT of track days, i would just wait til winter. borrow one of ours until then.
jbot
well, that is, unless you find a great deal on one.also, i think xt sells "refurb" ones... i got one, and they're in nice shape. i'd call them and ask about it... though, they might only sell it if you send in a busted timer.... not sure on that last bit. Edited August 10, 2012 by jbot edit good deal not good shape lol
2thDr
anythiing under 110 for something in nice condition is a good pick up.
madcat6183
Yeah I paid 125 shipped, and it was in very good condition. I rarely see them for 100 or less anymore, but like Jbot said, put it on the Christmas list.
J_Copeland
I'll prolly wait unless I see a good deal on one.

r1crusher
It's probably painted orange so deduct accordingly for that.

Moto-Brian
Remember two things. One, there are two versions of XT out there. If it is the older one, XT will not replace stuff on it. They will credit you towards a new one which is the newest version. Two, always look for a beacon. But, the XT are fragile. They constantly have issues. I have two and they both are on the fritz... r1crusher
B....if you would stop crashing them they might last longer. BOOM!I kid.
Moto-Brian
B....if you would stop crashing them they might last longer. BOOM!I kid.I actually haven't crashed with one on yet... But, the old generation (thicker and more square) needed a new board and sent it in and they said they only repair the newest one (Thinner and round corners) so, I got one about a year ago. I then had the newest one decide that the connector on the battery tray broke and needed repaired. It comes and goes, but never stays on... Need to send it in, I guess... ama146
i have the older XT and it broke from just being in my spare parts box...
redkow97
I assume mine is the older model. It's in good working condition. One vertical row of the display pixels is out, but it's nothing that affects your ability I read the times.
J_Copeland
Can somebody post up pics of both models?
r1crusher
There were some subtle outside changes even between version of the same model years. One way to tell is that the little LEDs for the computer and thumbs up/down are in the bottom corners on the newer ones where on the older ones they are both in the upper right area. The other (and probably the best way to tell) is when they turn on, the older models when turned on will show at the bottom from left to right: temp, storage, battery. The newer models the very bottom will rotate/scroll the display of the temp, storage, battery.
2thDr
I had mine get caught in my tire. Twice. And it still works. ha Maybe I just got lucky.
Moto-Brian
Best way to tell is older is thicker body and square edges. New one thinner with rounded edges. The internals are completely different. I other words, you can't take the infrared sensor on the old version and plug into the new and vice versa. Hence, why XT won't fix the old ones. r1crusher
The entire thing changed some time in 2004, after that they all should be the same outside and in.
