Well crap guys, didn't even know you were riding. The guy on the BMX is an old friend of mine, Rolla. Awesome dude. Lost his mom to breast cancer two years ago. His thought behind it was that cancer patients don't have a choice in how easy or difficult it will be, so he wouldn't either. I'm pretty sure he's going to get a road bike though for next year. We had several extended stops. Haha.

yeah i was on the moto escort crew. im in earache's pic in the middle with the reflective stripe on my pants... i actually have met rolla before too. he did some paint work for me like 6 or 7 years ago. that is seriously BA that he rode the bmx.

From the command center, I had a good and thankfully VERY boring time. The other guy that was with me, Scott, was saying that at about 1PM last year they had 30-40 incidents between mechanical failures, riders down, etc. This year, at about that time, we had 8.

I might be tempted to bike it out next year, I know doing moto escort was one of the most fulfilling things I've done, just seeing everyone cheer on each other, the people on the side of the road cheering everyone on, and reading all the stuff from the back of the biker's shirts.

thankfully i did not see anyone injured. only had to call in once for a mechanical failure i couldn't handle. then a few minutes later a trek support truck pulled up and helped out. other than that i helped change or pump a few tires, and put a handful of chains back on for people.

it was definitely awesome seeing all the people outside hanging out and cheering. outside alexandria there was a family at the end of their driveway and one of the kids was wailing on a drum set.
