My opinion of the music industry its self is turning to one of the corporate end is a bunch of greedy fucks. They are insulated from the artist Because your record deal is a bet that you do well if not you owe. Then you make a pittance on each record sold.

Reminds me of hearing an interview with Ian Anderson of Jethro Tull fame. He said his entire music collection of his music is all on a digital medium even though much of the refinement of the music has been lost by doing so. Even the 'pro's' are 'going with the flow' anymore.

this is nothing new, the copyright laws have been in effect for a long time.

seems like the bar owners in the article either don't know the law or are trying to get something for free.

if the bar has a jukebox, the licensing is normally covered by the vendor - if you look at one you should see an ASCAP or BMI sticker on it somewhere.
