candybluzx6
I have a 08 zx6r and when i crack the throttle from idle it hesitates before it revs up. I have owned the bike since new and it has done its since i can remember. It is all stock with 13,000 miles. Any ideas?
jbot
does it do it only when it's cold, been sitting around, at operating temp, only on thursdays, etc?also what about the epa stuff? is that taken off?
blue03636
Add, when is the last time the plugs were changed, to that list
jbot
wait, are we supposed to change plugs?
blue03636
Not as often as you switch bikes
serpentracer
Add, when is the last time the plugs were changed, to that listhe said it's done it since new. could be bad coils. I suspect it's a tuning issue to be honest.I'd get a power commander or whatever and have it tuned on the dyno

blue03636
I'm guessing this is just with the bike sitting still. That being the case I haven't owned a bike that hasn't doen that without a tune. If it runs fine while riding it I wouldn't worry, the tune would be a waste if it's all stock. candybluzx6
All the epa stuff ist still on. I just changed plugs last winter. And it does it at all temps. I do only notice it whe it is just sitting but when i blip for a down shift it seems real sluggish on the revs. Thanks for the help guys
candybluzx6
If this helps. When i turn the idle speed to about 2000 rpms it is not so bad but still there
blue03636
I would start with what mag said to see if that helps.
candybluzx6
Is it ok to just dump in the tank?
magley64
Is it ok to just dump in the tank?yes, just read the directions for dilution in gasoline. If it's a small tank, I'd do a 1/2 can per fill up...split the can into 2 treatments.
