RSparky
I'm debating using these wheels (click) for my senior design project. However, the section width must come to at least 8 cm or 3.15". I'm also hoping to find some street tires for cheap to fit the rims. If anybody has one, can you tell me the widest dimension of the tire? Thanks a ton.
rawlins87
Check scooter tires. Stock crf50 rims are 10" iirchttp://www.motorcycle-superstore.com/5/32/404/15131/ITEM/Kenda-K329-Front-Rear-Scooter-Tire.aspx
TSB67
The section width of a 2.5-14 tire is 2.5 inches. I'm guessing that rim is a 1.6.Stock 50 wheels are 10".
RSparky
hm. well that site must be uninformed. i think they mean a 125. besides needing the width to be at least 8cm, the rim diameter is required to be 13".
TSB67
hm. well that site must be uninformed. i think they mean a 125. Not really. That chinese 14" wheel might fit on the front of a CRF50 if it already has a chinese fork with a chinese disc brake on it. Welcome to the frankenstein knockoff world. RSparky
lmao thanks! my advisor is all about chinese knockoffs. he's from taiwan himself. "this is capitalism. america can't be capitalist and good to environment at same time. you buy what cheap. BUT! alway check shipping!"anywho, these are just about the cheapest rim i can find that i think(read hope) meets the specifications i need... i i just want to make sure before we send money...it says the width of tire is 2.5", but is that the width at the rim sidewall or the tips? i mean, my tires extend out a bit on each side. any other suggestions?
