  1. Yep, with the veteran tag, because I have Navy pride. For those that don't know, the Yamaha YZF600R is called a "Thundercat" in European markets, instead of the letter/number designation. And mine is a 2004 Yes, I'm a dork for doing stuff like this... the Vet tag is really to maybe get me out of ticket one day, the tag itself is just to be fun Fun side note... I couldn't order zero-four-c-a-t because zero-four isn't a vanity plate... it's out there somewhere. I had to order the letter "o" then a four. Just can't tell the difference Those that like vanity plates because they're fun... rep it up

  3. Read the article. The piece is about how he purchased the bike as a therapeutic intervention. It is the key point if the article. This forum is very pro-veteran.

  5. You need to buy that ninja, and you need to start riding more with experienced riders in the twisty stuff. You learn by doing and watching and taking good advice from seasoned riders, straight line riding does not teach you much. Get out in the rain too.......you will do these things if you truly want to get better and more comfortable.

  8. He quoted what was in the artical, wtf does it matter if he did add it?Its for a man that served in the military, who protected our freedom so we can ride everyday. It should take priority.

  10. That's pretty slick, actually. Once I get my bike done, I plan on getting a vanity plate for it. The bike is my one luxury... I drive a 97 Sable so that I can spend a little cash on my two-wheeled hobby. :-)

  11. I have historical plates on my 1982 gs 850. Not my daily driver. But I would use something along the lines of " just a quick shake down ride " because I plan to go to bike at Quaker steak Wednesday night. I have never been pulled over due to having historical plates on my bike. I did get pulled over and a warning for speeding in the metro park. I was going 40 and the posted speed was 35. This was at the end of River road, ( 40 mph) entering the metro park at Miles road. The historical plate topic never came up, just a friendly reminder to watch my speed.
