  2. It isn't pretty but it runs fantastic. Body says 181,000 but I have a hard time believing it. Had to put a manifold gasket on the passenger side, and put the fuel filter in its correct place. Whoever had it just ran a new line from where the line comes out of the front crossmember to the throttle body. Talk about lazy lol The driver side door striker also needs repaired, but other than it's been a good buy. Notice the green bowtie http://img1.hugeup.com/f/07292008/74e56d.JPG http://img1.hugeup.com/f/07292008/7499c36b0179.JPG This door had a huge dent in it when I got it. http://img1.hugeup.com/f/07292008/4c69e76f69e.JPG Interior is still dirty but it had 1/2" dust caked on the dash, and the floor had a bunch of mud. http://img1.hugeup.com/f/07292008/4d30d8.JPG Not pretty but should make a good beater truck

  3. Real Men of Genius. This is for you Mr. Columbus Racing, flame war starting, internet guy. Mr. Columbus Racing, flame war starting, internet guy. It doesn't matter that you live in your mother's basement and haven't bathed in a week. You are a God online. He's goes by "Bro Rape". You've got an opinion or two, or several hundred, that you'd like to shove down the throat of everyone on the forum. Everybody listen to me. And it doesn't matter if you contradict yourself in several postings. You're still right. I'm a complete idiot. So you go on pecking away at your filthy keyboard, as you keep slowly detaching yourself from reality. You rule. Rep to you. Mr. Columbus Racing, flame war starting, internet guy.

  6. Hey guys! My name is Ashley, a guy with a girls name.. i know. Anyway, ive got a POS 96 Ford ranger that is my daily transport and a new project that my grandpa left me. Its an old Mercedes Benz 220 Gas from 1972. Seems to be in pretty good shape, sorry no pics right now. Some rust, interior is near perfect, the engine is a different story. My dad tells me it hasnt run in 20 years, so im guessing a lot needs replaced, and its a gas motor so theres no sense in saving it. If it were a diesel i would be all over it right now! Id like to stuff a big ol' american V8 in this bad boy, and thats where you guys come in! Someones got to have a complete motor lying around. I was also considering bagging the thing, but i know my fab skills are not up to the task. After goodguys i really want to get this thing together. slammed, some moon hubcaps, jet black with a ground thumper... oh, i can see it now! We will see. looking forward to getting to know some of yous guys. Heres a pic of the body style, but not my Benz. http://www.dyna.co.za/benz/Mercedes_Benz_74_230-4_Blue_sf.jpg

  7. Greetings speed freaks and freakettes! I actually used to run amok with a number of you but went inactive a few years back when I had to sell off my 'Stang and move back north. I still know a few people here, including a cousin who joined after I went AFK. (Notice how I don't actually claim him by name... LOL) You will know him by his WRX and his WOW. I also run into a few other members on occasion like a certain OBGYN, and I could never forget Anthony's taillights. (all I ever really got a good look at on this Pontiac...) Mostly I come begging back at the CR door because I have moved back inside I270 at last, and though I still do not have a respectable race car, I have found a new hobby (and probable cause of death) in riding motorcycles. My bike is nothing fancy, but I bought two junkers and with two weeks time, grease and no shortage of burns and spilled blood I now ride about on a (mostly) restored old '78 GS550. (plus I have a lovely ornament in my back yard which closely resembles a cannibalized Suzuki parts bike....) I know I will catch shit for the 550cc displacement, but at least on this forum I should catch more love for the rice than most.... Lastly, I am an emotional masochist and just love to have abuse heaped upon me, so I naturally gravitate toward the unique CR brand of vicious love. I await your verbal abuse and I forgive Thorne in advance for his lack of wit. Oh, yeah, and since I know we are all a bunch of shallow fucks, I will just apologize in advance for not having posted a pic of my poor little frankenbike with a naked broad sitting upon it bouncing her bits about. Yes, yes... I know that makes me a pole smoker, thanks for pointing it out.

  8. I was previously and now am being rehired as a GM master tech at Saturn West in Hilliard. Headgaskets are known to leak oil. They rarely cause a running condition. They burn oil a lot from the rings. Motor mounts go out often. Then just random other little things. If you were able to bring it to my house or near Grove City I could check it out for you. The SOHC's also had a problem with the head cracking on the exhaust cam journal, but they fixed it after '97.

  9. SOHCs are known for head warping, but it's not like it happens on every engine. Maybe every other engine.

  10. The commodities market is *where you get your gas*. If there is an 'artificial' $.10 added on to the price, the exact same equilibrium is reached for the amount of gas available and the price the market is willing to bear. It works like this, say you went out today and added $.10 to the price at the pump. Low and behold, you don't sell as much gas at [price]+$.10 as you did at [price]. What happened? The price finds an equilibrium at wherever the market will bear. Tax or no tax, the price of gas will be the same given the buyers and sellers are bringing the same things to the table. With a tax you are basically forcing the supplier to slice off (some of the) profit and give it to the IRS. OSUGT: when you have grasped middle school economics, let me know.

  11. Andy, I think the link trowa provided is a good one. That website has a lot of helpful hints, and it says to do a lot of what I'd advise. Cover letters are, IMO, vital. Similarly, as previously posted, follow-up thank you letters are important. When done correctly, both convey a sense of professionalism that can only serve to enhance your chances in obtaining the position. Certainly, there are some professions in which cover letters and the like are more - and less - important. Yet, as a rule of thumb, you should use them. I can share with you some of the cover letters and follow-up thank you letters that I've used, if you're interested. Good luck with things, and let me know if there's something in particular you think I can help with.

  15. i am. honestly, i'm more concerned about people ilegally carrying guns--but it definately bothers me that the average idiot standing next to me in line at chipotle can legally have a holstered gun on their belt. if i'm in a restaurant with my family, and that restaurant gets robbed at gunpoint--i'd much rather just hand over my wallet, and have the gunman get away, then dodge bullets as some vigilante with a 'concealed weapon' permit gets into a shootout with the gunman. i don't care how much training you've had, how many times you've been to the gun range, and how responsible you think you are, you're not a cop; and should not have a weapon of immediate deadly force in your possession at all times. that's my opinion. if you want a gun in your car to protect yourself in case of a car jacking, or as many guns that can possibly fit in your house, i'm o.k. with that. i've fired a gun before, and go hunting with my brother in law, so i'm not completely anti-gun
