  1. Hello everyone, I'm Randall S, otherwise known as "Captain Panic" Not really sure what all info you're looking for so I'll start with what I've got on the road: 1986 Toyota MR2: http://i287.photobucket.com/albums/ll126/Captain_Panic/engineinstall003.jpg http://i287.photobucket.com/albums/ll126/Captain_Panic/Picture016.jpg http://i287.photobucket.com/albums/ll126/Captain_Panic/D1.jpg http://i287.photobucket.com/albums/ll126/Captain_Panic/fixed1.jpg This car has been my best friend, and worst enemy at the same time. List of mods, if you're interested: Short ram air intake ported and polished head bore .040" over 268 cams lightweight flywheel RS*R header 2.25" exhaust high flow cat factory muffler from my '93 MR2 Enkei RPF1's w/ Azenis RT615 full polyurethane bushings, including motor mounts Suspension Techniques lowering springs and swaybars Koni yellows Quaife quick ratio steering rack TRD stage 1 alignment All this crap and it's only dyno'd at 112whp, and 92Lb/ft of torque. FML Yes, I know it's slow, you don't have to tell me. On to the next one: 1993 MR2 Turbo This car was a gift from my GF for a lot of things. It's pretty much stock except for the wheels, intake, and the grapefruit launcher exhaust. http://i287.photobucket.com/albums/ll126/Captain_Panic/sw21.jpg http://i287.photobucket.com/albums/ll126/Captain_Panic/sw20.jpg It's not really boosting right, so driving it is... meh. And lastly: 1971 Datsun 240Z This car is all stock. I wouldn't have it any other way. Why screw up a classic? Though it is for sale if YOU want to screw up a classic. http://i287.photobucket.com/albums/ll126/Captain_Panic/240Z/Z1.jpg http://i287.photobucket.com/albums/ll126/Captain_Panic/240Z/Z2.jpg http://i287.photobucket.com/albums/ll126/Captain_Panic/240Z/Z3.jpg http://i287.photobucket.com/albums/ll126/Captain_Panic/240Z/Zinterior.jpg Over all, I hate rice. I don't even really like 4 cylinders. I can respect all the hard work, time, and money that go into a good build though, no matter what the make/model is. Oh, and I am the author of the "wing ad" on craigslist http://columbus.craigslist.org/pts/1984170808.html. Yes, it's supposed to be stupid, and I hope you had as much fun reading it as I had writing it. So there you go. Flame away. Just make it funny. I would do the same for you.

  2. I may have started a similar thread a few months ago, but I can't find it... to recap; I've never owned a gun, and only fired hand guns. Hoping to buy myself an early christmas present though. (i gave up on my prior gun quest when the track bike needed a new rear tire ) Here are the "bullet points" (haha - i'm hilarious) of my situation: - my primary concern is home defense, but I want to actually USE any firearm I purchase. Range shooting needs to be possible and affordable (i know the last range I was at didn't allow rifles or shotguns...) - my wife doesn't like firearms. I have to choose ONE (for now). She particularly dislikes the size and "image" of shotguns, or this would be an easy decision. - I am CHEAP. $200 is my absolute max budget. Cheaper would be better. - cost and availability of ammo matter a lot. - "stopping power" isn't a huge concern for me. Missing an intruder and shooting through my neighbor's wall IS a concern... So where the questions come in... how accurate can a novice shooter hope to be with a hand gun? I like the compact size (for storage purposes) of a hand gun, and the wife somehow finds them less intimidating than shotguns, but I don't really love target shooting in the 15-30 foot range. Options I'm considering: 1) telling the wife to blow it out her ear and buying an inexpensive 12 gauge. Only draw-back I see here is the size of the firearm, and maybe the recoil. 2) telling the wife, "I understand that a 12 gauge scares you and you'd have a hard time handling the recoil in an emergency, so I'm buying a 20 gauge" (is ammo as cheap and available? could I still shoot clays with it? is it still a decent home defense weapon? what could I potentially hunt with it?) 3) buying a cheap-ass hi-point .38 - for $135 new, it just seems like a convenient and cheap option... 4) going with an inexpensive .22 revolver or pistol that can share ammo with a .22 rifle I might some day be able to purchase - then the hand-gun is my "home intruder" weapon (despite the small caliber round), and the rifle is for when I want to pretend to be a sniper, or pick off looters in the street when the dollar collapses and the country descends into anarchy. As much as I'd like a small arsenal in my home, I'm also trying to keep my wife relatively happy, or like I said, the shot-gun would be a no brainer. thoughts?

  3. Hello all, My name is Chris but everyone calls me CB. I live in Mason OH, and work in IT. I have been riding for 8 years now, and it is truly one of my life's passions. I started on a dirt bike when I was 17, then went to the street at 22. I love my Yamaha's but have been riding hondas for awhile now. I have done three trackdays including Mid-Ohio, Putnam, and VIR. But as I'm getting older and injuries do not heal as fast, I have slowed in my age:nono:. Anyway, that me in a few sentences. Howdy:D CB

  4. Why have the prices of these bikes jump so much in just a couple years? I am sorry but that is alot of money for my taste. I have always wanted to buy at least one new motorcycle. However I think they are priced higher then what I am willing to spend for one. At this point the only time I will buy a new bike will be a 2 year old left over. I am sorry but wages have not gone up keep up with the cost of things. Looks like it is time to raise my dyno pricing so I can keep up with the Jones. I think I will be happy with my 01 1000 for awhile.

  5. Try to get with some people next time they shoot. I'm sure most off of OR members who shoot are willing to let you shoot theirs. If you are ever at a shoot I go to, you are more than welcome to shoot my stuff.

  16. I never bought the ones in the new bags. I was afraid if I took them on a picnic, the bag would dissolve in the ground before I got any chips!

  19. *ahem* I'm still waiting on you to call!! lol I'm glad you guys liked it, I had a lot of fun writing it. I had bought an old, tired, '85 MR2, and it had a rice cannon, and this "thing" stuck on the trunk lid. I sure as hell didn't want either of them. It's just been sitting in the closet and I'm sick of my girlfriend bitching at me to get rid of it. So seriously... don't you want to go to the moon? Buy it.

  20. You can get it from walmart for 60, and get a $20 walmart gift card essentially making it 40. I like it a lot, but then I'm pretty good at halo.

  21. Well, as long as you have documentation of selling it to him, you'll be fine. Otherwise you run the risk of him getting it impounded with it still in your name. Could get ugly there. More than likely won't happen though. And he'd have to come all the way back here to take you to court. Doesn't seem like the truck would even make it back here anyway.
