What's up all. I am new to this forum (referred by quite a few members) and have owned many cars in my lifetime: 1988 Volkswagen Fox with a custom exhaust, and swapped the 4 speed for a 5 speed manual 1992 Audi 100S 1984 318i http://i976.photobucket.com/albums/ae245/bmwohio/Old%20Bimmers/scan0009.jpg 1980 733i with 49k original miles on it, ran it to 120k and sold it for the same price that I bought it for...HA! http://i976.photobucket.com/albums/ae245/bmwohio/Old%20Bimmers/scan0001.jpg Most recent: 1997 E36 M3/4/5 http://i976.photobucket.com/albums/ae245/bmwohio/BMW%20Ohiobimmers%20Meet/IMG_2298.jpg http://i976.photobucket.com/albums/ae245/bmwohio/Photoshoot%209%2018%2010/IMG_2383.jpg http://i976.photobucket.com/albums/ae245/bmwohio/Stromung%20Install/solo0650.jpg http://i976.photobucket.com/albums/ae245/bmwohio/6e2095aa.jpg I grew up near and on the race track(Mainly Road America) as my dad would head there at least twice a year for PCA events, and started autocrossing right when I turned 16 with my his track prepped 1970 Porsche 911T. http://i976.photobucket.com/albums/ae245/bmwohio/Stromung%20Install/porsche.jpg I am pretty competitive in SCCA Solo, and hope to get out to Mid-Ohio for some track events this summer. http://i976.photobucket.com/albums/ae245/bmwohio/OVR%20PE4/solo0407.jpg http://i976.photobucket.com/albums/ae245/bmwohio/OVR%20PE4/solo0200b.jpg So my family has always been into racing and autocrossing, and we typically try to compete at events together (good male bonding). My dad is 63 yrs old, and can still throw a 2000 C5 FRC around the track, as well as his 911. This is my dad being smart taking a picture while doing 140 http://i976.photobucket.com/albums/ae245/bmwohio/dadspedo.jpg Myself, brother, and Dad's Bimmer collection: http://i976.photobucket.com/albums/ae245/bmwohio/Photoshoot%209%2018%2010/IMG_2387.jpg So, I now spend most of my free time either, buying tools for the M, researching my next DIY project, spending hours on the forums (including this one now), and helping guys fix any type of car that they drive (usually a Bimmer) Or fixing/maintaining my own I have owned my M for almost 2 years, and still have yet to pay a mechanic any work that has been done to the car, as I thoroughly enjoy working on cars. M3 is mainly stock, because I run a stock class in autocross. I just recently installed a new catback exhaust that sounds pretty mean. http://i976.photobucket.com/albums/ae245/bmwohio/Stromung%20Install/IMG_2801.jpg http://i976.photobucket.com/albums/ae245/bmwohio/Stromung%20Install/IMG_2810.jpg I mainly joined here to chat with other folks about the same passion I have for cars, and I would basically consider myself a Motorsports Junkie always looking for my next fix! Any questions, give me a shout :thumbup:3 points

Hey all. I've heard about this forum from guys on OhioVW and OhioBimmers so I figured I would check it out myself. I'm Erik, from Gahanna. I'm a college student at the OU branch in Pickerington. Currently driving a 1988 BMW 535i and a 1986 VW GTI. http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c229/ColSchmitz/IMG_8403.jpg The bimmer is completely stock for the time being. The 3.4 liter I6 runs awesome. I've got some Bilstein Sport struts and H&R sport springs on order. I plan on replacing the current wheels with some OEM BMW wheels in the near future. Other than that I've got no plans for it. http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c229/ColSchmitz/Cars/IMG_8199.jpg My GTI on the other hand is not stock. The previous owner swapped a 2.0 8v into it with a sportier cam, adjustable cam sprocket, hot air intake and chip. The car has been lowered and beefier sway bars were installed front and rear. Exhaust wise it has a Techtonics cat back. Its a ton of fun to drive on the twisties but lacks the grunt for straight line speed. I've actually been thinking of selling it so I can focus on my 5er. If anyone sees me tooling around Cbus give me a wave. Erik2 points

Hello, my name is Josh and I am an addict. I spend every spare moment surfing auto mobile forums and cruising classified ads looking for mods or a new projects / toys. In all seriousness I am a huge motorsports fan and can spend endless hours talking or reading about anything with wheels and a motor. Growing up in WV, most of my time was spent on 4X4's owning an 85 S15 Jimmy with a 3" body lift on 31" super swampers, then an 83 Jeep CJ-7 on 33" BFG's, and 93 Jeep Wrangler. At that point I moved to Columbus and purchased my first new car a 2000 S10 Blazer ZR2 5-speed. Then I realized how boring it can be to drive an off road car on the road the entire time. From that point it was a 2001.5 VW passat (lowered on Eibach's and 18" RS4 wheels), then on to an 2002 Audi A4 which remained stock since my son was born about the same time. My most recent ride was a 2007 300C SRT-8 which was an absolute blast to drive. However after 3 years of joy I once again got the itch in February and sold the Chrysler.... After being carless for two weeks, I came across a great opportunity on a BMW and within 24 hours found myself on a plane to go pick it up in Philadelphia to drive it home. I found CR indirectly when researching the CC&C and joining ohiobimmers. From there the track and dyno days have peaked my interest even more and have led me to believe this is a worthy place to waste time. Thanks for the intro, let the flame begin........2 points

I'm not sure this qualifies as an habitual idiotic tendency. Maybe I'm just pointing out the double standard some members have glorifying drinking or drug abuse but dumping on someone who obviously had issues beyond being a lazy fat ass. After all we all eat, many eat too much. You can quit drugs and alcohol, but you don't quit food. If anything I'd hold the "girlfriend" in lower reguard simply because she enabled the issue. I mean, someone shits themself on the couch and can't clean themself and has maggots crawling around on them, do you: A. Keep feeding them B. Admit that person has issues and call for help? Hell, most of us wouldn't treat an animal as bad as she did this guy! I feel bad for him that his "friends" were unwilling to help him get better, and instead killed him by enableing the addiction he had.1 point

I can only imagine Monster tastes better after displacing some of the disgusting liquid with dead animals.1 point

it's not different. Failing to value your health is pretty much the same whether you're eating yourself into oblivion, smoking yourself retarded, or riding without a helmet. It's your "right" to do whatever the fuck you want with your body, and my right to judge you and make fun of you when you die because of a stupid decision. I expect people to do the same to me if I die from some habitual idiotic tendency.1 point

Not making excuses for this guy but how is this different from the alcoholic or drug user who becomes pathetic and leaches off others willing to enable the situation? Usually this sort of issue also involves psychological or medical issues. Obesity is an easy target because our society doesn't glorify it like other addictions. I wonder how cool Charlie would appear if his drug and alcohol problems were eating issues? Fat Charlie with pudgy little eyes, welded to a chair shouting "winning"!1 point

Glad this forum exists!!1 point

Hey everyone. Figured I'd join the site to get to know some more people "around" the area. My names Corey and I have an 04 Mustang GT. I'm on Cleveland Racing as well under the name of OneSlow98GEETEE. I'm currently in a rebuilding process with my car. Long story short, it was a Vortech V1 S-trim boosted and FMIC'd stock engine, with TB, plenum, exhaust, etc. Made 13lbs at redline, 411rwhp and 396rwtq with no cool down time on Big 3 Racing's Mustang dyno...and lasted 1 day LOL. I have pictures of the carnage upon request. Here's what will be going on the car in the next few weeks, and hopefully running by the beginning of April: MMR900 Shortblock with ARP mainstuds, ARP 2000 rodbolts, ARP headstuds, and MMR sideblock bolts. Spec 8 bolt billet flywheel with ARP bolts Spec Stage 2+ clutch kit Twin 03-04 Cobra fuel pumps with 40A BAP FRPP HV Oil pump MAC LT Headers with matching shorty O/R X pipe connecting to my Magnaflow Magnapack Catback Stock heads for now with Comp beehive valvesprings and retainers for future cams of CMS Stage 2.5 blower cams and then the V1 blower will be going back on with it all with the same pulley setup. Going for 450-500rwhp ish before cams, and 520-540rwhp with cams. http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f198/eastonhockeyplayer08/shortblock2.jpg http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f198/eastonhockeyplayer08/shortblockside.jpg http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f198/eastonhockeyplayer08/shortblockunder.jpg http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f198/eastonhockeyplayer08/clutchflywheel.jpg ^ sock not included in rebuild http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f198/eastonhockeyplayer08/fuelpumps.jpg http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f198/eastonhockeyplayer08/headers.jpg http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f198/eastonhockeyplayer08/progress2.jpg http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f198/eastonhockeyplayer08/progress3.jpg http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f198/eastonhockeyplayer08/done.jpg http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f198/eastonhockeyplayer08/mustangciv2.jpg http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f198/eastonhockeyplayer08/mustangciv1.jpg http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f198/eastonhockeyplayer08/mustangfmic.jpg http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f198/eastonhockeyplayer08/04tint.jpg1 point

Oh shut up. If you can't enjoy a car that will run 9s and even 8s in the 1/4 on STREET TIRES AND PUMP GAS, then you just can't enjoy anything at all.1 point

Shame on the spin doctors Shame on Governors Walker and Kasich Shame on the politicians and Shame on us. Why? We have allowed the powers that be to paint our public sector employees in a bad light and we drank the Kool-Aid! Police Officers, Firemen, Teachers, Corrections Officers and others are NOT the enemy. They are not bad people and they are not pawn to serve as feathers in someone’s cost saving cap. We’re too busy bickering amongst ourselves to see the truth. THEY ARE PATRIOTS AND HEROS!!! Patriots because many have served in the military to fight for and defend our great nation. Heroes because they sacrifice much for the betterment of our society with so little reward. Sure we can come up with stories about this guy or the other but those are the 1%ers. Don’t let that sway your view or the other 99% like Ben’s brother or the ones posting here. My hat goes off to the firefighters, policemen and teachers here and everywhere. Policemen never know what will happen at a routine traffic stop. They could end up getting shot at any time. Firefighter attack fire and hazardous spills on a daily basis Scooter pasted about a friend being beaten and sent to the hospital and there is no way I would want to deal with 25 adolescents for 8 hours a day! There are many good comments both for and against this bill and a wonderful debate but what we fail to discuss does the end justify the means? Do we really what to crush our heroes under a political thumb to save a few dollars in tax money? I read many post that say things like “I wouldn’t want your job” or “I’m not saying they’re overpaid”, well let’s call that to the front line. Would you support them with your vote or your pocketbook? If not it is empty rhetoric. I will and have support them with both. Police Fire and school levies in my district receive a HELL YES! on my ballot. You get what you pay for 90% of the time. There is a reason that I picked to live where I do. As like most of you I considered the quality of the school district and the crime…Hmmm. Have we really become that Chinatized? Do we always want more, more, more for less, less, less? There is a breaking point for this lifestyle and we need to consider that. (Have we thought about how this will increase short term costs, quality of service and whether these employees are under or overpaid?) What we need to do is look behind the curtain of SB5…I’ll post on that later. BTW - I’m a salaried corporate employee.1 point
