  3. So I read through the fellas other brake question thread and he did not have the same question. So instead of posting in his thread and getting it off track Ill just make my own.. Here it goes, I am doing a brake line tuck on my 4th gen lude. But Im wondering what kinda flare I want, 37 degree or 45 degree. That question tho, dictates what kinda fittings I get. 45 degree flares would be just OEM honda fittings, and the 37 degree flare would only be compatible with AN fittings. And I wanted to use AN fittings. But from my research I am having troubles finding a 37 degree DOUBLE flare tool. It was also brought to my attention that AN fittings may not be able to hold the pressure from brakes. So that means my brake lines would be single flared (not up to DOT standards, therfore not technically legal) and possibly AN fittings that cant hold pressure from the brakes. My question is, are AN fittings really that weak? And would it be a bad idea to buy a 37 degree flare tool that can only do a single flare? Or do you think the single flare will be suffecient for my brakes? Thanks to all that answer!

  4. More stuff from the car: The car runs a UTEC "stand alone" ECU. The UTEC controls the engine directly over 1PSI and then returns to the stock ECU when boost drops below the setpoint. The output of the UTEC runs to a PC in the trunk and then the PC displays key parameters on the stock navi screen. I can switch between the stock navi and the added PC by holding down the "ENTER" button on the navi system for 2 seconds. The computer was mounted to a piece of plexi glass that was custom fit to center of the spare tire. If I ever need the spare it takes about 2 minutes to pull the PC out and disconnect all the wires. I was originally concerned about heat damage but so far I haven't had any issues. I have a couple fans blowing right over the motherboard, but still there is little room to draw fresh air from after the trunk mat is put back down. http://www.kptechnologies.com/images/carputer/keyboard.jpg http://www.kptechnologies.com/images/carputer/carputer1.jpg http://www.kptechnologies.com/images/carputer/carputer3.jpg http://www.kptechnologies.com/images/carputer/display.jpg By using this system I was able to not install any visible gauges in the car. I do have a boost gauge and wideband stashed away in the center console. One of my main goals was to keep the car as stock looking as possible while making it a bit more fun to drive.

  5. Any idea how much current the vacuum solenoid requires? I could pretty easily set up a dial on the board to select TPS trigger point and then have a programmable RPM. We typically run (-) 500mA outputs from the modules. If the vacuum solenoid draws less then 400mA no relay would be required. If you need more then that a relay can be added to the board, but I typically like to make them external in case they fail (much easier to replace a $3 relay then a $xx board).

  7. Note to my 18 year old self: "Stop applying for credit cards, stop telling yourself that you like being an electrician and go get a job working on cars you'll be much happier, fuck what Dad says, treat Tricia like a queen she saves your ass so many times it isn't funny, you can buy a house after you've worked as a technician for a few years, she lives through the seizures and the baby is fine even though that was about the hardest thing to deal with, everything works out fine by 30"

  9. We don't typical reverse engineer anything - we design everything from the ground up. We do all of our engineering and manufacturing in house so we can make small quantities of products at decent prices. What exactly are you looking to do? We currently have a module that uses both TPS and RPM signals to do two step and "speed shift" features. Assuming we could use that circuit board to accomplish what you need the price would be surprisingly low. If a custom board has to be made then obviously the cost will go up quickly as there is much more engineering and manufacturing costs associated with a custom low quantity board.

  11. I'll trade 2 big wheels and a razor scooter. The scooter is missing some parts, but does run. The big wheels have significant scuff marks as both have been down .... lots. Tires are in poor condition due to power braking. Have been stunted.

  20. I'm excited about the cars engine potential. It just depends on how strong the block will be. The Yamaha head design is a major plus and I am sure the car will kill s2000's.
