I don't have any ink right now but I've been thinking about this one tattoo design for about 10 years now. My mother died on 2000, and the last words we spoke where when she was going in for the operation that failed to save her life. She jokingly asked if I was successful in life "because" of her in "in spite" of her. I did not answer her, uncomfortable with the poingant nature of the question. The tattoo is going to be a photo-realistic rose (her name was Rose) with a long stem and 4 branches extending from the stem. Each branch represents one of her children. On each branch there will be a number of leaves representing her grandkids My branch would have one leaf representing my son. My older brother's branch would have 2 for his two kids, etc. Space will be left so that leaves can be added as more grandkids are born. The stem will extend below the 4 branches, and there will be a vine with leaves that spirals around the stem but is not actually connected to the stem. This will represent the kids that were not hers but that she helped raise diring her many years working as the manager of a children's home. Finally, there will be a banner across the stem, right under the the head of the rose that contains one word that I should have said to her before she died. "Because"

When I first heard about all this I was thinking of jurasic park. My initial thoughts were raptors!?!?! Awesome!!! The .234 will bring down a water buffalo im sure it will handle the prehistoric ancestor to the chicken!!

Sounds like a good policy to me as long as you are having fun. Riding a pace that makes it fun for you is more important than trying to keep up with others who have different priorities.

Ahhhh....well you haven't seen me on one then! I am conservative rider though and have a lot to learn and don't mind saying so. I want to do it right and make it home at the end of the day so i take my time and ride at my own pace and don't care. New roads with blind corners always slow me down as I have yet to see the things I want to see, like my little ones graduate!

Yeah. But how many bikes run into one of those compared to how many cars hit them that would have crossed over and into oncoming traffic. I think its a numbers game when designing things like that.... how may lives could be saved as opposed to the few unfortunate riders that might die hitting one.

Dangit. I didn't get raptured. Gonna be a lot of people asking; "Can I have the money I donated to the Family Radio church back??" Their website it down, their offices are shuttered and the main guy (Mr.Camping) is gone. His ass is in heaven now. And when I say heaven, I mean sitting on a mexican beach with two suitcases full of millions of dollars in doomsday donations, drinking pina coladas and offering the barmaid "one last taste of heaven before she goes to hell..."

So when people said the rapture is coming, you thought that a prehistoric bird related dinosaur was emerging from extinction? you're the best. I think that might be one step crazier than thinking that you might be beamed up to heaven.

I'm going to tell you a little story. My cousin is in the Army. Similar to SWAT he works with special units that get their hands dirty often. He has several responsibilities, one of which involves tank operation and artillery on the front lines. The tank has nothing to do with this situation but I have always found it cool that he gets paid to blow up shit. Ok, back to the story... Fighting overseas is something he does by choice and has chosen to re-enlist on several occasions. None of this was to fulfill his need to be the alpha male. It was to protect other soldiers because he has the training and expertise to possibly make sure another soldier makes it home safe. A self proclaimed nerd, he can breach your house and take you out with his hands or shoot your face off from a couple hundred yards. This is in no way to show off, not to be top dog, its just to be in a position to help others if needed. I bring him up because he is basically SWAT. The only difference is he's kicking down foreign doors. If you go deeper into it you will find most do it to help others. Its selfless not selfish. I'm not going to be ignorant and say none of them are as you explained. I'm also not going to say they are all great stand up people. What I will say is they are all individuals that are/were good enough to be considered elite. They risk their lives all the time to try and make a better place for us. It offends me when people like you look down their nose at the entire group. The guys that screwed up deserve the backlash, not everyone wearing the uniform.
