Just a short introduction....I heard about this forum from a member on LS1GTO. In a discussion over potential track rentals Columbus Racing came up. I have an '06 GTO that I take to the track every now and then. The car is strictly a toy. We participated in NHRA Regional and National events back in the early '70s. We worked our butts off and had limited success at that time. (held some records in Modified Production catagory) We are currently living in the Athens, Ga area, so I don't expect to attend many of you local get togethers. I do try to keep up with what is happening around the country, and expect to stop in on a regular basis. If you run short of long BS stories, give me a holler. Jan

Wasn't sure exactly where to post this. I joined a long long time ago and never was very active. Figured I'd reintroduce myself before I just start popping up in threads trying to join the conversations. I currently have the following cars in my stable. 90 Talon AWD has 23K original miles on the body. I bought it as a shell and have been very slowly putting it back together how I want to. 91 Talon AWD it's the beater "fun" car. Just basic bolt on's exhaust, hard pipes etc. (both talons are in my sig) 02 BMW 325i this is the regret. Bought this car used and have had the worst luck with it. Had more stuff break on this well maintained car than my beat on Talon's. 98 VW Jetta this is the beater for the beater I guess. Got sick of paying stupid prices on parts for the bmw so bought me a cheap little 2.0L jetta to drive till I can get the BMW fixed to a point where I feel comfortable selling it.

I took advantage of my dad's painting skills a few weeks ago. No more We are now IMO the yellow is way better than the "Black Cherry" from last year. This poor bike isn't gonna know what color it's supposed to be. And to answer the question, no this paint job wasn't due to any dumpage or damage. Just had the offer given so I took him up on it.

Well I made the gamble and I think it payed off. I drove out to Dover in a CX-7 and came back on a sv650s. What a crazy first ride for my new bike. I had 3 hours of sun/night/rain/gusty winds. Kept me on my toes. When I could feel them of course. Its a flat black 2005 sv650s with 16k miles on it. It has a full Yoshi exhaust, Fender eliminator kit that was actually installed well, Flush turn signals, Almost brand new front and rear tires, and oil just changed. The title was a repair and not salvaged so its already passed state inspection. The bike ran like a top. All gears shift smoothly, no hesitation throughout the rpm band, and the clutch felt good. The final price was 2900. I don't think this was a bad price. Now my sore ass is going to bed to pass the hell out and hope when I wake up im not as sore or cold as I am right now. PS: I went and looked at that yellow one today and they guy would not budge off of 3k. It was all stock with busted up from plastics and missing various bits and pieces throughout the bike. So I am glad I did not go for that one.
