Was out playing around in my Jeep last Sat with the woman since it was raining. Went over thru Cade's Cove and across the Parson's Branch Road for some off road fun. Dropped down on the Dragon and across 28 towards Bryson City. Stopped off at the BP station there for some gas and a break. While I was inside a guy was using their phone to call for a tow for his bike. So as I was getting ready to leave I saw they all had Ohio plates. Had all my tools with me so I stopped to see if they needed a hand. Guy said his Super Hawk had fried the reg/rec and the battery. They jokingly asked if they could get a ride back for his truck. Oddly enough, they were staying 10 miles from my cabin, so I gave him a 3 hr ride back to his truck so he could get his bike back. Didn't even think of asking if he was a member here. But anyways, helped another Ohio Rider (that may or may not be a member) with his break down.2 points

Hey all, I've been away from the car scene for a little while now...going on 7 years. I was a CR member back in 03-04 and am looking to re-join. Last time I was on here, Scott was KOC and I had a quick 5.0 foxbody. Nowadays I have an 02 audi a4 with 150K on the clock and am planning on building something in the next year or so...just haven't decided what yet. Hope all have been well...it's interesting seeing some of the old screen names still on here.2 points

Hi my names Rob and I am a big fan of the performance car scene in the states. I heard about this site from another car forum and thought it sounded interesting! Look forward to seeing all that the forum has to offer and contributing where I can. Cheers!2 points

Thanks guys, Well at the moment I am inbetween performance cars and just have my Nissan which is not much to write home about to be honest! I have in the recent past owned a E46 M3 and a 2006 Subaru Legacy with a few mods including HKS boost controller, HKS cat back exhaust, Hks air filter and carbon fiber intake. The M3 was standard and both cars were relatively similar in performance. Here are some pics. http://i289.photobucket.com/albums/ll231/E46-RAT/DSCF1053.jpg http://i289.photobucket.com/albums/ll231/E46-RAT/High-Quarter_HDR2.jpg http://i289.photobucket.com/albums/ll231/E46-RAT/Rizel_Version_by_whhoah.jpg Doc we do have drag racing over here, I must admit I dont partake in motorsports myself but I have an interest in all things high performance. There are some great driving roads over here but a zealous police force! Ah you have watched the worlds fastest indian! Well that will give you a little idea but things have moved on! I like American v8's but over here new ones can be very expensive, Well over $100 grand NZ for a new GT500 Mustang and $130 grand+ for a new Camaro! Cheers, Rob.2 points

I was browsing the threads and came across this link in someone's message and decided it was worth putting it in the spotlight for a bit. I checked it out and thought it was a great little tool to plan rides, change routes, or whatever else you can find it useful for. It would have been great for the Dream Ride. The route could have been printed out for each person, with not only a map but written directions as well. Points of interest can be added, for those riding for the scenic value of a route or with one or more destinations in mind. Check it out for yourself. http://ridewithgps.com/1 point

I'm 17. I know everything. I can ride a four-wheeler so it's only logic that a two-wheeler would be half as hard to ride. What could I possibly need to learn? I would never try anything that could get me hurt. I would never try to show off in front of my friends. I would never try anything that I wasn't ready for. I know not to wreck my motorcycle. I will take good care of it. I won't get hurt. I know how to ride one. No, I've never ridden one but I know how to ride one. A big motorcycle is just as easy to ride as a small one. Oh yeah, kid? How about these people who ALL knew better? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c4UdrUspFzI http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t5G6FPcGXps&feature=g-vrec http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JLN7ksG0oBw&feature=related http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1YFhedJNdp4&feature=related http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7JUSWgOcLtg&feature=related http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=58BreQNhsMc&feature=related http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZIV3MpeaQpk1 point

Whats up! I race a 2002 chevy duramax extended cab long bed 4x4 lifted 4 inches that is black in color. I usually run at trails and race the 12.0 index diesel class. I have been as fast as 11.63 at 116 but can run all day at 11.80's. My uncle is a memeber here and always talkin about the site so i figured what the hell might as well join!1 point

I love it when people admit they don't trust themselves to be smart or prudent, and acknowledge they'd probably kill people because of it, but don't realize they're making that admission. Trust me Magz, we're all glad you don't carry a gun too.1 point

Just because you aren't smart enough to use a gun for self defense doesn't mean the rest of us aren't.1 point

I never want to see you claim to be a Ron Paul supporter and/or Libertarian ever again. You're completely full of crap.1 point

Yeah, Ben finally called - sounds pretty serious about getting my wood this weekend. For those of you who are disappointed you didn't get my wood, it sounds like this may eventually become a server shelf to house the overworked OR servers... you'll all be getting a little bit of my wood every time you log on. Shit, I've got a little wood just thinking about it.1 point

See? I'm not the only asshole Seriously though - if you plan to keep the car for less than 3 years, Walmart it up. If you plan to keep it forever, Optima is a great brand. Just know that Optima batteries cannot be quick charged, so if you ever run it dry it'll take a while (a long while) to charge.1 point

I started out on a cbr600rr and it never really scared me acceleration wise. Then I went to a Moto gp race and figured out what I'm going to try and do with my life, so I bought a 1993 cr250 with hopes to supermoto it for cheaper track days/parts. Unfortunately I never got around to that(sold it for a Barrett .50, worth every penny btw), but that 250 2 stroke put the fear of god into me the first time I though "it's just a 250" and went WOT. Get him on one of those and maybe explain to him that it is more fun to ride a gear out instead of being in the "aggravated speeding" section of that speeding ticket by 2nd gear.1 point

I don't get off on HP #'s. Hittin' the twistys is about much more than that..IMHO.1 point
