  1. Hey my name is Adam and I'm from Fort Wayne, Indiana. I found out about this website from Anthony Green. I sold him some shocks and an aluminum girdle. I have a 2001 Chevy Camaro Z28. Here's a list of some mods done to my car. This is not all because not much left is stock. Stock bottom end LS1 Fast 92mm Intake and Throttle Body AFR 205cc heads Custom Grind Comp Cam Z06 MAF Mostly BMR Suspension 4.10 gears Yank SS4000 stall As of right now my car is broke. I broke the rear end back in October. I ordered a new narrowed Moser 12 bolt, Strange rear drag brakes and some new wheels yesterday. I love to drag race and I street drive my car and also drive it to and from the track. Here's a couple pictures. Let me know if you have any questions. I hope to be running high 10's on motor this spring! http://img90.imageshack.us/img90/6446/mycamaroq.jpg http://img707.imageshack.us/img707/8994/weldrts5.jpg http://img690.imageshack.us/img690/6676/weldrts4.jpg http://img825.imageshack.us/img825/8994/weldrts5.jpg http://img266.imageshack.us/img266/2025/weldrts6.jpg http://img32.imageshack.us/img32/8826/dsc00186j.jpg http://img163.imageshack.us/img163/2954/dsc00189kc.jpg http://img402.imageshack.us/img402/9484/dsc00194tb.jpg http://img715.imageshack.us/img715/795/dsc00195lj.jpg http://img843.imageshack.us/img843/7605/dsc48652.jpg http://img96.imageshack.us/img96/4220/dsc0085wv.jpg

  2. Or, when somone breaks in to your house, shoots and kills you, rapes your wife, and takes the dog, then I guess you'll know which one you should have bought. I seriuosly can't believe, someone seriously can't believe, this is even a question.

  3. Do you really need that much protection hanging around in the kitchen? In all seriousness, the Forcefield stuff is great, but doesn't offer any abrasion resistance, which is the whole issue with jeans. My recommendation, similar to others, is always at least some ballistic nylon riding pants. Any of the less expensive brands will be better than jeans, and I believe that Iron Pony keeps many in stock (in addition to a large selection of riding jeans if that's really what you're after). The best way to find something that fits is just to drop by and try a bunch of stuff on.

  4. Do not go racing through Hueston Woods. My child and I go there frequently. Use your fucking head for more than a hat rack. I think you're a nice kid and all but I know who you are and won't hesitate to beat the stupid out of you if you go racing by my kid. We good?

  7. This, if you are riding with "fear" you shouldn't be riding. If you have a moment as you throw your leg over saying, well wonder what would happen if I did go down and didn't get back up, get in the cage and ride when your mind is clearer. At least take a few seconds to get the thought out of your mind. Concentrating 100% on what you are doing and your surroundings is all you should be doing on the bike, if it isn't, then at some point it won't end well. I know I had a moment in Jennings this year hitting the back straight first lap, knowing my wife was 3 months prego and we had just got married, etc. I looked behind me, saw no one, sat up, slowed, cleared my mind, and boom, gassed it and never thought about it again. I won't the rest of the season, and know I can't do that in any other enviroment. I'm with IP, I hope I die doing something I truly love, not while losing my mind sitting in some nursing home or assisted living or whatever. F that, I'd rather die riding, skiing, racing, etc. I do not want to be miserable in my final days.

  8. Let's take a step back and get a few things straight before continuing this discussion: Kevin Schwantz's personality is completely irrelevant when it comes to the merits of his legal claims. He can be the biggest a-hole in the world, and still be right, and he can be Mother Theresa and not have a leg to stand on. If he's likeable, that just means that the public is more likely to feel sorry for him without knowing all the facts, or irrespective of those facts. As far as I have read, Schwantz has sued COTA claiming "tortious interference with contract," and "fraud." As one might guess, in order for there to be interference with a contract, a contract has to exist. I haven't read any hard evidence that says any contract between COTA and Kevin's company ever existed. I've more gotten the impression that they were negotiating and possibly talking about forming a contract. The Federal Rules of Civil Procedure require that fraud claims must be pleaded with particularity. The idea is, I can't just accuse a party of fraud and leave them guessing as to what I think they did to defraud me. There may or may not be a real claim there. Without more facts, we simply can't say. But this is how I'd speculate things went down, give or take a few details: KS wants to bring MotoGP to Texas. Awesome. So he calls up Dorna and says, "hey, if I can work something out with the COTA, would you guys consider a third American GP in 2013?" Dorna says, "we're listening," but commits to nothing. KS approaches COTA with something like, "hey, you're building a track, and I've got interest from Dorna that MotoGP might come here if you build it right." COTA listens, and builds the track to accommodate bikes, but commits to nothing. Fast-forward 3 or 4 years, and now it's all real. The track is complete, Dorna would like to schedule a round at COTA, and KS is acting as middle-man to make that happen. He'd like for that to mean he's the promoter. ...But negotiations break down, and KS wants something that either COTA or Dorna isn't willing to give him. They realize, "hey, this Schwantz guy is the one causing conflict here. Let's just do the deal without him, save us both some money, and eliminate the arguing." Deal done. The question is where/if fraud occurred in that (admittedly completely speculative and very vague) timeline; and if Schwantz ever actually had a contract with COTA or Dorna. If a contract existed, then Schwantz may have something. If not, I don't see this getting very far in its current form. An agreement to agree is not a contract... A contract requires an offer, acceptance, and a promise in exchange for 'valuable consideration.' That means money must have changed hands, or one party must have given up some legal right (like their ability to negotiate with others, etc.) Again, as of now, I haven't read anything to indicate that such steps were taken, which makes everything up to that point "mere negotiations." If we're not getting all the facts, there may be a different outcome. Where I think KS has a lot more traction is in a claim for quasi-contract. There, the court basically creates a contract to prevent unjust enrichment based on the plaintiff's detriment. KS certainly did a lot of leg-work establishing the relationship between Dorna and COTA, as well as his own expertise in making the track safe. He does deserve compensation for those efforts, even if no contract to promote the race actually existed. But he's not going to stop the race, nor is he going to win the promotional rights... In summary, COTA doesn't appear to have done anything illegal. Unethical? Possibly. Maybe even probably. But it's a court of law, not a court of fair.

  9. I don't think you should over analyze this. Resolve your issues at your own pace. Everyone has different levels of risk, reward, commitments, skills, goals. You will find that you can get past this and enjoy riding again or you won't. It will be the right path for you. I'm one of the have already crashed guys and found that it only affected me for half a day of riding the first day back. It never forced me to dwell on it or lose sleep about it. I went over it in my mind several times to keep from making the same mistake again but that was essentially the end of it. Track days after the fact helped my riding immensely, I no longer have self inflicted uh-oh moments. The riding environment isn't any safer but I am. We all ride at a pace that we enjoy, that pace is different for everyone but the enjoyment level should be the same for the fastest to the slowest rider. Don't judge your enjoyment against others, it's an impossible task. Your wreck is something to learn from, you know what happened. You should know what it will take to fix that one type of situation. You are going to hear "track day" from a lot of people. Having been there riding with you when this wreck happened I can without a doubt tell you that a track day would be of great benefit and most likely would have prevented the event if you would have had one prior.

  12. Listen... Opinions are like assholes. Everyone has one. But, unless anyone here has solid info as to the exact business issues between the two, it is really unfair to be slanderous on either side. Promoting not to buy tickets and support MotoGP and road racing in this country is really, really stupid. I am a HUGE fan of KS. I ran his number for a few years and he was one of the reasons I started racing. I have friends that are close to him, that work for him and he is by far as great a dude as it appears. However, COTA is a business. They have a lawsuit against them from Kevin's company. It is strictly a business and pretty much a sensible decision considering. If you have a lawsuit against you and that person attends your facility, why would you want him there? It is a pure business decision and something ANY company would have done. Apple suing Samsung. Think the CEO of Samsung would be allowed to attend an Apple meeting while that lawsuit was on? Maybe not a good example as he wouldn't be allowed even if they were not. But, you get the idea... Kevin IS God. He is... To us racers and race fans. Accomplishments may only include a single MotoGP championship, but understand what he has done for the sport. Much greater things than a MotoGP championship. What has Eddie Lawson given us beyond his racing? Not much... Kevin is a coach, teacher, designer, racer, businessman, etc. He is and will always be a guy that we can all look to and see the results of what he has given this industry. I personally think he has done more than most in this industry. BUT... He has some issues between his company and COTA. A game of he said, he said? Maybe. But, as in anything between non public companies - we will not know the whole situation and even if it reaches to a climax and has an end result, we may still never know details. That's the way it is. But, no offense to Moto's post and blog, but I always tend to feel these blogs are something to shout "Hey, look at me and my opinion". It's all cool and all, but I am siding more on that of Cephas' blog as it is his opinion and allows him to express what he feels. The other blog comes as an opinion of course, but like a guy pushing religion, you seem to be pushing your beliefs on us and I sorta think that stinks. Your opinion is cool and I think if you think it makes a dent, by all means. But, I have a bit of distaste towards you that if you are in fact an actual enthusiast of racing and the sport of road racing specifically, you would look beyond the lawsuit and try and support the sport. What happens if all you guys get on your BS wagon and prevent ticket sales and TV viewership to a point that COTA and Dorna say "Screw it - it isn't worth it and we will lose sales and profits. Let's bail on the US market."? What if that did happen? That's your goal to hurt the wallet of COTA, right? That hurts the sport, man. That hurts an already fragile sport that BARELY has any traction in this country. I dunno. I understand your being upset. Again, I love Kevin and have always worshiped him. I can show you more posters, books, helmets, signed stuff than most will have. But, I am also a business guy and know what happens when lawsuits pop up. Justified or not, let the courts handle it and let the results speak for themselves. I told people on the WERA board that it would be better to take your crew of people and rent a big ol bus/buses and travel down with the same flow yellow Kevin used when racing and make a bold comment on your shirt supporting Kevin. Stay together and shout as loud as you can. TV will catch it, the press will catch it and above all, Kevin will see it. That is supporting Kevin. Not taking MotoGP away from a great venue. Are you going to protest everything that is at COTA? We just did our WORLDWIDE press launch of the new 1199R at COTA. Will you be protesting the purchases of the new bike? Reject the magazines that attended because they should have stayed home in protest? It's silly, man. Passion is fine. Lord knows I have a ton of that for this sport. But, it is a fragile sport that NEEDS support - not opinions driving people away.

  14. I signed up to test drive a ford at the autoshow and receive $50, and was wondering if anyone can guarantee a v8 test drive? I did this last year at Matthews Ford and they gave me a v6 mustang. When I signed up I selected the mustang and the focus st as the cars I am interested in. If possible I would like to try both :masturboy: If not thats fine and I don't want anyone to try to and get in trouble, 50 bucks isnt worth someone losing a job. Thanks
