Figured I should post something in here before I make too many more posts elsewhere around here (like the picture game thread)... Purchased my first Motorcycle this past June - though I've had my endorsement since 2007 and "borrowed" a bike from friends occasionally. The trigger pulling moment on the purchase was when I finally had both the $$ and garage space for one. I wound up with a Moto Guzzi V7 Stone, and have had about 1100 miles of enjoyment since the purchase - even with 8 weeks of broken elbow and physical therapy starting shortly after getting the bike home. PS: Thanks to P.O.C. in Lakewood for being good people and a pleasant dealership experience.

I went through this exact situation earlier this year at the same intersection. I was rolling through at 7:18AM and got popped going 50. I had just woken up and didn't realize the speed trap started at 7:15 not 7:30AM. Female Deputy got me and was very nice but stated she owed me the ticket since I had received a written warning in Cinci a month prior (who knew warnings were transferred throughout the state?!). Wrote me the ticket, stated I had to go to court. I called the prosecutor, Beth Mitune (sp) to explain the situation and told her how inconvenient going to Delaware County court was for me and asked if I could simply pay the fine. She granted me a little leniency since the ticket was time stamped 4 minutes after the school zone took effect and allowed me to pay the fine over the phone and did not make me go to court. . I have not had a ticket (in Ohio) in the past 2 years so I was allowed to take a remedial online driving course to 'hide' the 2 points from the DMV and my insurance. Worked out for me and I only paid the fine. I also called because I was sure even though the cop didn't write it as a reckless op that because of the speed over the limit I would be charged with it and get 4 points rather than 2. I would suggest calling like I did and ask to make sure that this is a 2pt moving violation and see if you can simply pay the ticket and avoid having to go to court. Can't hurt. -Marc

Eh, a solenoid is a solenoid, but looks like this one includes main ignition fuse and needs a pluggy thingy. I would check rubber city vintage cycle in Akron or Pinwalls cycle in massillon, both are highigh-volume bike wreckers. One should have it. Last ditch would be manuel motorcycle on tallmadge ave. If worse comes to worse and you can get to it relatively easily, jump the poles with a screw driver to start the bike.

Do you have your own insurance company on this? Do you have collision coverage? Is YES, then file a claim against your own insurance and let THEM fight it out. They will represent you better than you can represent yourself. If you are liability only then you'll just have to run with it. With the witness saying the turn started, and the 911 call backing that up, if they rule against you then you should fight it. And buy a dashcam. Check ebay for "GS1000 Orange menu"

But in general, approximately $650 for parts, $100 for shipping. Shipping is generally cheaper at amazon.com, but some parts are higher priced.
