  1. Thanks for sharing Paul. You might not guess it, but I'm one of those eternally positive people. I always think things are going to be OK, pretty much no matter what. I can adapt to most any situation. I really don't waste time sweating the small stuff. One of the principals I live by is: "Life is too short to spend time worrying about things you can't change."

  2. You can certainly blame the parties for the 2 party system. They definitely don't want to give up any control. Voters need just as much blame though. Especially the jackasses that believe "My party has the answers, your party will be the death of America." There are plenty of these jackasses. Too many to count. These are the people that are propping up the broken system. I have far too much pride to call myself a democrat or a republican. I'm an American. See signature.

  3. The wake I'm going to tonight is for someone that was mostly a childhood friend. I still saw him occasionally as we have some of the same friends. He was a father, had a good group of friends, owned a business. Not at all something I would have expected. I guess you never know what other people are dealing with.

  6. Right on IP! I need to find something like this. I've been walking to control my blood pressure and reduce stress but I certainly don't enjoy it. Life certainly feels like one step forward and two steps back lately. Sent from my Nexus 6 using Tapatalk

  8. Ditto, I'm sorry sprocket and to the others who have lost friends and family. Brian, I'm particularly sorry for your loss, even if it was 18 years ago. One of my deepest fears while my daughter grew up was Anorexia because it is such a hard disease to treat. Thankfully we didn't go through that.

  9. Roughly 75% of eligible voters do not vote. Of the 25% who do, most are woefully uneducated about the candidates they vote for. I would guess that fewer than 5% of voters even consider third-party candidates, but that's a larger symptom of voters (in general) being woefully uneducated. My sincere belief is that 60%+ (of eligible and/or participating) voters would agree more with a third-party candidate than they do with a Democrat or Republican candidate. ...but people are stubborn and fearful. My friend's mother is a very intelligent person. I converse with her frequently enough on various issues that I feel I know where she stands. She should have voted for Jill Stein (Green Party) last election. If she had truly voted for the candidate with whom she agreed on the most and most serious issues, she wouldn't have voted for Obama. When I pointed that fact out to her, she acknowledged it, but then insisted that voting for Obama was better than wasting her vote on Jill Stein. She voted for someone she didn't believe in, but I'm the one wasting my vote? I think not.

  10. If you only have one location but a decent link to the net then Scott's answer is the way to go. Do it during off hours. Use one of the cloud backup services. Carbonite and Mozy come to mind first for a small business. Simple, reliable and reasonably inexpensive. A hard drive attached to a computer that you swap out and carry around is a bad idea for many reasons. You will forget, you will drop it or some crack head will steal it out of your car when you stop for beer on the way home. As for frequency, weekly is also a bad idea. If you need this backup, it is going to be because something really bad happened. You don't want to add to that by having to say "It's going to take a week to rebuild our network and then we will also lose a weeks worth of data, so ummm yea this is basically a two week loss for the company'. That would be a resume generating event, as it should be. Neither Mac Automator or Time Machine are acceptable for this job. If you go cloud you will get software from them for this. If you have multiple locations speak up, then my answer changes.

  11. I second Scott's suggestion. I use Dropbox but don't have a favorite. Just make sure that you use reasonable encryption on any data that you don't want others to see. Sent from my Nexus 6 using Tapatalk

  12. I'll be 43 soon, and have lost a few friends along the way. Only had one friend commit suicide, and that was shortly after graduation...and over a female, at that. I just keep waking everyday, and enjoy what I can in life. I dont plan on cashing in my chips anytime soon, but since none of us know when that could be...do what makes you happy

  14. That and all participants involved get the same amount of money to campaign with, no advantages for anyone whatsoever. Problem is that both parties are so in bed and owe favors to many enemies of this country, until we can get that under control NOTHING is going to change.

  15. Will there be a third party candidate on the ballot? There is not a single candidate I'm familiar with that I'd currently vote for. At this juncture I do not intend to vote at all and perpetuate the continued dissolve of America. I'll never pretend to be very knowledgeable when it comes to Politics but I feel as though I at least know enough about some things. And what I know is what we have currently is no longer working the way it was intended to in large part due to greed. Be it the greed of power, money or influence it does not matter. A once great nation is being torn further and further apart due to politics and this in my opinion has been over the course of the last 16 years where we've had 8 years of a Republican and 8 years of a Democrat. Both had their shot to make it better and both have failed
