  1. Just got back from the annual LocalRiders fall trip to NC/GA. Rolled out of Cinti on Tues and took backroad twisties/goatpaths to Abingdon VA, then continued with the goat path theme on Thur into Waynesville for a OW mileage of 724. Rode about 350 miles each day Thur/Fri on the usual choices and had a buddy's clutch cable break on the far end of the Cherhola. Managed to limp him back to camp and spent part of Sat trying to scrounge a suitable cable and jury rig a salvage yard part to work (SURPRISE!--there are no OEM parts available for a 2001 BMW GS650 Dakar anywhere in NC). Had to settle for slabbing it back on 40/75 #becausenostopping for a trip total of 1840 miles. Perfect weather and great riding as always with a crew of long-in-the-tooth hooligans! FYI: They are doing road resurface on 107 north of the 281/Canada Rd junction in Tuckasegee. True cluster-f--k!

  2. This is why riding a bicycle is much more dangerous than riding a motorcycle (on roads).

  3. Was down a couple pounds last weekend and one pound this weekend. Pretty good considering when we went to Atlantic City labor day weekend I ate like a grazing buffalo. Hoping for 20 lbs total lose this coming weekend since the begining of August.

  4. But you have a new motorcycle. The only way i see this working is if you buy a new bicycle.

  5. Rode Ceasar Creek for the first time in a decade. It's old and a bit eroded. A good adventure though. Highlight reel was pole dancing on a tree. There were trees on both sides of the trail next to a ravine. The up hill tree had steep angled roots . My front tire rebounded of them pointed down into the ravine. I grabbed onto the downhill tree. The bike dropped out from under and spun us in a 180. Then then top tube and I extreme scissored 4 feet to the bottom. Less painful then the highlight at Dillon last month. I wheelied over a flat rock to a pointy rock in the middle of the trail with a tree uphill. I didn't get the wheel down to pick a line. I hit my hand and bar on the tree. The front wheel kicked then spun out from under me. The momentum pushed the downhill left side of my neck into the tree about 5 feet high and with the bike gone I grated all the way down. There were sections of dillon so rocky that there was no moss worn off any path
