  1. It's not a fair comparison because life isn't fair. It just illustrates the fact that most Americans' attention isn't focused where it should be. They are more worried about what the Kardashians are doing than what ISIS is doing.

  2. That was visceral to watch. So sudden. Yes, the car turned in front of him, but I also blame the rider (as much flaming as it may get me). He was going WAY too fast... we've all done it, myself included. Even if it was the car's fault.... You can't sue if you're dead.

  3. I agree that their deaths generally garner more attention than warranted given that we have a steady stream of dead soldiers returning from "war" that get little to no fanfare from the vast majority of the population. This is largely because the media chooses to focus on the attention whores and gloss over the rest.

  4. Supposedly it says something along the lines of, "looking for brave girlfriend".

  6. Well a month and 2 weeks removed from the accident that totaled the Zx10 and it kills me not to ride in the nice time of year in Ohio. After vigorously searching I've decided on an 07 z1000. So, when's the next ride.

  7. The mother even says that he was driving to fast, I don't think she really blames the driver for his death. I think she just wants people to take a second look at what could be coming before they turn. It's better to shake your head and possibly flip someone off for being stupid than to have to live with a death that could have possibly been avoided.

  9. Nice ride. Now that you are back to riding, please don't post anymore photos of your ”thumb”.

  10. I agree with Josh to a point, but drivers usually dont take the time to actually assess how fast something is coming toward them, imo. They simply see light(s), expect that due to the distance away it is that they have enough time to make the turn. So they approach, glance ahead, and instantly initiate. Happens to me a lot, whether riding or driving. I'm not saying the rider wasn't mostly at fault because of his speed, to move at that rate and rely on traffic around you to make sound judgement calls is foolish anyway, fun or not. I ride like everyone could kill me if they so desired, so defensively it is then....at all times. Right or wrong, I could care less since it's kept me alive this long. Be mindful and take care out there folks, shit can jump out from most anywhere and end you.

  11. Correct. For 10 acres or less you have to prove you made $2000 off the crop or land usage. More than 10 and you just fill out a paper with what you are using the land for and how many acres are being used. The local county may or may not inspect the land at any given point to ensure your CAUV is valid. Once you get CAUV never get rid of it or you pay 3 years in back taxes.

  12. Yep. Regular microwave. What are you going to use it for other than thawing and warming up leftovers?

  13. I don't think that's a fair comparison at all. First of all, "the media" focuses on what consumers want (or will watch anyway), so we can turn anything we hate about the media right back around and blame ourselves. What is actually important is different than what the American consumer connects with. I know a ton more about Joan Rivers than I do about 99.99% of enlisted military personnel. I am saddened by the loss of any human life, and it's upsetting when military personnel die in conflicts I don't agree with - but that's part of the risk they accept when they enlist. That doesn't change how their families feel.

  17. Yeah because there's no thieves or drug addicts/dealers that fall in the high income category. OP you can be like some people here that are in fear of their life and need to be armed everywhere they go, or you can get a good deal on a house and enjoy life for what it is.

  18. If starting a family, the schools is definitely something to consider. It doesn't really play a role in my personal decision making because our children will be home schooled; however, for most people, that would understandably be a huge factor. Some may say DeSales is right there so private schooling is an option, but, some of the biggest whores, drug users, and drug dealers I knew were preppy white kids from affluent families that went there. I would never send my kids there, ha ha.
